Story

Stayton Friends of the Library is a 503(c)(3) all volunteer organization which is dedicated to raising funds in support of the Stayton Public Library’s various programs; augmenting their book budget; and providing additional supplies and equipment as warranted or desired.

We strive to complement the library and the community in a partnership which directly enhances literacy and education, as well as to promote cultural and intellectual interaction. Our major source of revenue comes from our bookstore on Third Avenue and our two annual sales at the Community Center. Additional funding comes from dues, monetary gifts (such as memorials and bequests), sponsored events, and other miscellaneous sources such as the fees for using the library‘s copy machine and the sale of book bags.

MEMBERSHIP: Is open to anyone who wishes to join, and members are encouraged to attend our monthly meetings. Meetings are held at the Stayton Public Library on the third Monday of each Month, September through May, at 11 a.m.

HOW TO JOIN: Dues may be paid at the library, at any event, or sent by mail. Membership cards will be issued to all new members, and annually to renewing members by request. Lifetime members are awarded a certificate suitable for framing. We support three levels of membership:

Mission

The purpose of this organization is: (1) to maintain an association of persons interested in books and libraries; (2) to focus public attention on the Stayton Public Library services, facilities and needs; and (3) to raise funds for the benefit of the Stayton Public Library.
