Today was my first time at Steamers and I only went in because I was walking by and decided to go in just to check it out.  Glad I did!  I ordered a whole clam plate to go and it was delicious!  While I was waiting for my order I checked out the fresh fish and I made a decision. Instead of buying my fish at the supermarket, I'm going to Steamers in the future.  Their prices were just slightly higher than the supermarket, but I only buy it by the pound, not the ton, so it's no big deal. I'm guessing it's always fresh and I think there's more variety.  I also like the idea of supporting a small family owned business and this seemed to be a nice family.

First off.. Staff was friendly. So I hate to do this. But huge strike: I do not eat mayo.  Not at all. I can not eat it. Its never an issue as I just avoid food prepped with it.. So I asked if they had lobster rolls with out mayo.. the type made with just butter. They said they could do it. Oh sure they did... They just rinsed the lobster off of mayo..  and stuck it on my bun. And I immediately knew with my first bite, had to spit it out... and not eat it. That was vile.. And so disrespectful. And to think they actually "washed" the lobster meat like that???? Just say "no.. we only have the lobster prepped with mayo" and I would have ordered any other item on the menu! So that's a HUGE 1 star from me. Sad as the staff was friendly.. and I had high hopes based on other reviews....

Best seafood I’ve had in years. Delightfully fresh and authentically prepared. I never write reviews but this establishment deserves all five stars.

Cool seafood spot in Nonantum. A great place to go for fish and lunch they have some seating available. The staff is very friendly and the food was ready quick. Great option if you’re in the mood for fried foods in Newton.

Fantastic seafood and the friendliest staff. This isn’t a restaurant but the food they serve is very high quality. So far we’ve tried the grilled seared scallop dinner, grilled shrimp dinner, grilled salmon dinner and grilled haddock dinner which were delicious. Perfect amount of seasoning and doneness. Lobster rolls are good too. Crab cakes weren’t the best but that’s not what New England is known for so can’t hold it against them. Wish portion sizes were a little bigger like the yummy rice pilaf and grilled veggies.

The fresh seafood looked good and the people inside were nice but ordered clam strips and it was as if it was fried in old oil.

This was a very cute seafood market serving a decent lunch options. Only had about 3 tables but was very accommodating. I had shrimp dinner for $12 and my husband had the haddock dinner for same price. Fish was lightly battered and not oily. It tasted fresh clean and delicious. It came with fries and onion ring, tarter sauce and cole slaw on the side. The menu had a variety of other options including lobster roll and clams. Would go there again.

High quality ingredients for reasonable prices. The owner is typically who runs the counter and is a great guy. He is very knowledgeable and happy to trim up a fish however you need it. The selection varies based on what he can get but it's all been very good. They also make their own lobster rolls and other cooked seafood plates so it's good for takeout, although I'd recommend it more for the raw seafood than their own cooked food. It's my go to place for local fresh seafood to bring home to cook in the area for sure!

I had the lunch fried clams two days in a row. Just the right amount and scrumptious.

I got the crab cakes today. Great portions of crab and price. Looking forward to getting more fish from them
