Story

Dr. Colin Malaker is the founder and owner of Sterling Dental Care. He built it from the ground up on the premise of providing dental excellence in a soft, relaxing environment. His goal is to make every guest's dental experience, no matter what is being done, the best they have ever had.

Dr. Malaker started his career as a commercial pilot after graduating from a four-year flight program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach Florida. After five years of flight experience, he found himself wanting a change that allowed him caring contact with more people instead. He turned down a position with TWA and went back to school to start the journey of becoming a dental care provider.

Dr. Malaker graduated from the University of Illinois - Chicago College of Dentistry. Along with his degree, he also completed an externship in oral surgery to enhance his experience. He attends numerous continuous education programs each year to keep up on the latest technology and techniques so he can pass that quality on to his guests. He is a standing member of many organizations to keep abreast of modern dentistry and to help resolve issues with Missouri's under served dental population.

Sterling Dental Care is founded with the principle of "Comprehensive Care" built in. Dr. Malaker is experienced in so many aspects of dentistry, including Orthodontics, Implant Dentistry, Cosmetic, Pediatrics and much more, that it allows you and your family to get the most comprehensive care possible in one place. Sterling Dental Care will become your home for most all the dental needs you may have.

A great fun place for kids and adults. They take most insurances, you get in sometimes that same week. The staff are funny and relieve stress and anxiety from young children, by having the rooms decorated in Disney character's, inviting colors, a TV screen over head to watch as your lying back having your teeth worked on. You can select from many different video titles. They even have headphones to listen to in stereo. They can preform root canals, extractions, cleanings, braces, ex-rays, and always have a dental gift bag for the kids upon leaving, they also send you appointment reminder cards in the mail and offer courtesy calls.
My family has been going here since my kids started brushing their teeth.
I love this place and so do my daughter's I recommend this dentist to everyone.

I have been taking my three children to Dr. Malaker for the last few years. I have never been to such an efficient, friendly medical office of any kind. If our appointment is for 3:00, we are leaving the parking lot by 3:30 at the latest. It is clean, modern, and all the staff are fun as well as polite. Lastly, I love that they keep "family-friendly" hours - I've never had to take my children out of school for an appointment because the office is open later than 4:00! Thank you, Dr. Malaker and staff!

Went in for a root canal yesterday. When I scheduled the appointment they said I would owe $268 on the day of the root canal. I thought that number seemed low compared to what they had mentioned previously so I called back to confirm. The woman told me that the reason it was lower was because my previous quote included the crown but that would be done a separate day for a separate cost. So I confirmed, "When I write a check on the day of the root canal, what amount will that be for?" and she said "it will be $268." Well surprise surprise yesterday they said I owed $415. I protested and the billing person said that whoever I talked to must have only looked at the price for just the root canal and not the build-up which is mandatory.  Her only offer was that I didn't have to pay it all at once. I have the money, but that isn't the point, they gave me wrong information because of their own error and did nothing to correct it or take responsibility for it. Further, they underestimated how much my insurance would cover for a filling last year and I paid $13 more that day then I ended up owing. Instead of letting me know or sending me a check, I didn't find out until I got my EOB weeks later and when I called them they said I had a $13 statement credit. That's my money and they should not just keep it. What if I didn't want to go there again, were they planning on keeping my $13? Unfortunately I will have to go back for the crown, but after that, my husband and I will be taking our business elsewhere.
