Every client working with Sterling Law Offices is assigned a two-person legal team. The main individual is a lawyer who executes in the region of law achieving our clients needs and the second individual on your case is a client advocate. Michelle was awesome! She took on my case with very little time before the hearing which I was extremely grateful for. I live in a different state so I thought that would make the process a lot harder, but Michelle and her team made it extremely easy to get everything done and helped walk me through the steps I needed to take. I’ve had the luck of working with Attorney Ellen Rhodeman for two separate matters post-divorce. She is extremely knowledgeable in both the family law and the county court system we utilized. Ellen was also personable and would allow me to vent my frustrations and get back to the matter at hand. There were quite a few emails between her and opposing counsel that I was in awe of because she said exactly what I would have said despite my not providing feedback or had the ability to accurately pull the most important pieces of my argument out to make it make sense. I’m not a lawyer by trade, but I’ve learned a lot about family law and Ellen is the type of attorney you want on your side. Zero game playing, not down for drama, excellent feedback and most importantly the ability to do what’s best for her client and help them see what makes the most sense. As much as we want what’s “fair”, the law doesn’t always seem that way, but Ellen keeps what matters most at the forefront. You can tell she’s a mom because she actually cares about your children as well, and becomes an advocate for them in the process. I liked working with Ellen and she will be my go-to if I’m ever in the market for a family attorney. She’s the 3rd attorney I’ve worked with at Sterling. All were good but Ellen helped me see things in a new light that will help me in future decision making. I actually think she would make an excellent judge…down the road when I no longer need an attorney.

Katie Vandeusen, Lea Diaz, and her team are life saving for me. I followed her from another firm, and after working with 10+ attorneys, either my own representation or opposing/GAL/interstate, she is hands down the best. There are so many factors to consider such as expertise, reputation with the court, attention to detail, detail recall, wisdom/discernment, tenacity, and timeliness. Already only a small fraction have all of those things BUT what Katie then also brings is that personal devotion. Even though she has grown to be managing partner, she still is heavily involved and genuinely has compassion. So often others could care less about the emotional turmoil or simply get too busy, but Katie is fully there for me. Truly, she is the paragon of a legal advocate in my mind, and I hope her family is incredibly proud of her work. Aside from my parents, she’s had the most profound influence in our family’s life. She’s helped me feel less anxious, protected, and most importantly, she’s given my children a better life.
