Story

For over a decade local artist Dave Wienert has created his works with inspiration from the Sonoran desert that surrounds him.

For years he refined a technique for creating artificial rock waterfall systems that still grace many pools and backyards all around Arizona.

Later, he wanted to do something more creative and challenging. His creation, Stone Cactus Waterfalls, blends art and aesthetic design in a wholly unique way.

Not only do his sculptures look beautiful and last for a lifetime, but they bring a whole new dimension of sound to your yard or room, the relaxing gargle of a stream brought to your desert landscape.

Over the years, Dave has perfected his craft by focusing on doing one thing well. He introduced fiber optic lighting which dances atop the cacti for a spectacular show at night. He also has branched into all variety of cacti, from large Saguaro to spiraling Fence Post's in every shape. Remote controls and timers make bringing this joy an ease.

The ultimate bonus though is how your cactus interacts with the environment. Every day Dave enjoys watching birds come to sip from his fountains. His customers send him pictures of all types of desert animals cautiously approaching his unique creations.

Dave has lived in Tucson for over 30 years now and his Stone Cactus Gallery shop is located right on Broadway, just west of Campbell.
