I've been going to Dr. Strathearn for years now and I would say she is the best! She makes me enjoy going to the dentist. She's a delight. Her employees on the other hand that she currently has working are horrible especially Mary! I'm 29 years old and I'm just trying to survive in the world. I needed to cancel an appointment 2 hours prior to having it because I realized I wouldn't be able to pay my portion of the bill. When I called Scary Mary answered. She wouldn't let me get one word after finding out that I wouldn't be able to make my appointment. She told me that she would have to bill me $40 for a cancellation fee(which they never billed me for). Fine, but mind you for the past two months I've been getting major things done and with that comes spending major money. These ladies known me for years and know that it's not my style to cancel or be rude. I didn't appreciate it all. That's not how you handle your best customers. I get that it's a business but at the same time there was no understanding. This office knows my whole family. We aren't shady people. This left a really bad taste in my mouth the way Mary handled this whole situation. I went for an returned appointment on 7-25-16 after that canceled appointment and I didn't feel the love whatsoever. It was really dry and to the point. With that being said, it seems as though they are only in it for the money. You thought they would've reminded on 7-25 that I had an appointment on 8-10 but nooooo they let the appointment slide and charged me $40 cancellation fee!!!!! Wonderful dentist, bad business. One star for Dr. Strathearn.

If I could give zero stars I would - I recently changed dentists because the office just was not very accommodating and I wasn't comfortable there. I found a new dentist closer to my home who explained things more thoroughly to me - and then told me ALL of my fillings, done in silver, had been done wrong and with an outdated material. I lost a large piece of molar in a serious car accident in 2007, at which point Dr Strathearn said a filling would suffice and there was no damage to the nerve, and even through out the years after, via xrays, said everything was fine - that cold sensitivity was perfectly normal even after five years. Ok fine ... what do I know, right? I'm no dentist. But xrays and a MUCH MORE THOROUGH exam at a new dentist showed me that cold sensitivity was due to the nerves in the root of the tooth being exposed right up against the filling, and SEVERAL areas where the tooth was starting to decay beneath the fillings I got at North Main Dental. Wow, great! That doesn't just start up! That had been there for years - why did Dr Strathearn miss it in her xrays?? So now I am looking at needing to have all my fillings cleaned out and redone properly with a non-conducive metal, as well as a root canal + crown, and several hundreds of dollars in dental work because of neglect from one office. PLEASE get second opinions, if you are a patient there, because I guarantee you something got missed, especially if you have state insurance.

I had a root canal done on my front tooth recently and Dr. Strathearn was Amazing! Everyone in this office is just so great and respectful and kind and just so pleasant. Carol, the assistant, was terrific! She mad me feel very comfortable prior to the root canal and is very nice. The injection was painless, the procedure was quick and easy and I wasn't numb for hours after! I would recommend Dr. Strathearn to anyone looking for a quality Dentist is the Hartford area!
