Stuart Glazer is a native of Detroit, MI and currently resides in Boca Raton, FL. He comes from a family of artists and musicians. His grandfather was an accomplished artist who influenced Glazer throughout his early childhood. During his adolescence Glazer took art instruction from regionally-known artists Ben Glicker and Robert Dowd, and majored in art at a high school for the arts in Detroit. Later, Glazer embraced music, following the path of his parents who were both musicians. Glazer’s Bachelor and Master degrees in music were from Eastern Michigan University. He received his Ph.D. in Fine Arts from Texas Tech University. Glazer has had a successful career as a university music professor and administrator, and a classical composer. He has numerous music publications and recordings to his credit including a film documentary (The Lost Wooden Synagogues of Eastern Europe) narrated by Theodore Bikel. He returned to his lifelong love for painting in 2001 after stepping down from an administrative position at FAU. He retired from teaching in 2012. Glazer has been exhibited in galleries in Key West, Naples, Dania Beach, Delray Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Boca Raton, FL, and in New Hope, PA.
