Sat in the drive thru waiting on my hot sandwich to turn cold while the drive thru girl argued with another employee on why her cash drawer was short

Went by a few minutes after 10pm to get a quick meal. Both neon signs indicated "Open" (one referring "Drive Thru"). Decided to call inside and let them know the lights said open. Employee said they're open inside but the Drive Thru closes 1st. Never would have thought that was a good business plan.
As an afterthought, how much would it cost to hook your "Open" sign(s) to a timer and avoid missed customers?
