Biggest assholes I've ever met. Yaphank is so much better. Never had to visit anyone in jail before aside from two tikes recently because he was locked up for something stupid. Cops and sheriffs in Yaphank are so much nicer and better. Riverhead Sheriff told me after taking buses there that my phone was in no way allowed inside the building at all meanwhile everyone in there was using their phones and put them in a locker when they went in to visit. He told me since I didn't have a car to leave my phone outside in a bush and it got stolen. Phone was brand new and after I had to walk in the freezing cold in the winter at night because my friend in Riverhead was suppose to pick me up but they wouldn't let me use the phones in the sheriff department and all my contact info was on my cell phone anyways. I walked at night to somewhere I could use a phone and call my mom.

I have to disagree that it's a failing system. It is doing exactly what it's intended to. Keeping corrupt politicians and cops wealthy

The court system does not care for those who want to better themselves and not be in jail, learn from their mistakes and move on. Not every person who is arrested act out like animals, yet the court system here treats them less than that. When someone is scheduled a hearing to be released for probation or rehabilitation on that day, it is NOT okay to simply say, "Well the judge is busy, so we'll just have to push your court date." That's NOT justice, and all you are doing is ruining the mental health of the inmates worse than you claim it was before getting arrested. A lot of the inmates there are in there for addiction, and instead of inventing more ways to keep them there, you NEED to start providing them the help with the power you can provide. I will be personally writing to the proper legal places involved, as a complaint to how your correctional facility as well as your courts, on behalf of the inmates currently in your facilities, on how unjust, unorganized, and uncivilized your system is being run. I am personally lucky I haven't had the unfortunate fate of being arrested, and I plan to keep it that way. But for those currently inmates at your facility, I am hurt by how those that want to better their lives, never get the chance to, due to your failing system.

My experience was horrible! It's cold in there ! Freezing! I was crying , they shut me up quickly, and told me that it's respectful jail, don't cry in here!!!! There are treating you like a piece of ****!!! Guys and girls aren't really that away from each other, I was getting hungry ** looks from the guys and they were walking next to me ... Trying to start conversation and giving me really crazy looks! lol I was there for traffic tickets, and I feel like was getting treated like I am criminal .... I don't think I'm much different then a correction officer! We both humans, we both have lives! I'm lot asking to be nice, I'm asking to be respectful at least! Do your job, but don't step over your head, for real ... What else can I say about this place. .. Main officer , blond pretty lady, that we're giving me my jail uniform and was putting my information in the computer and asking me questions was really nice, she made sure my bail was ready quickly , and they let me out off there fast !
