This place is so cute! I got the Afternoon Tea package with sandwiches great value!. I tried the mini ube and strawberry scones, which were both delicious but the strawberry was my favorite. I had the Karina tea which I enjoyed, and added some oatmilk cream and sugar. Highly recommend as a cute outing with a friend!
Delicious! I love scones and had to try this place- they have classic flavors and adventurous flavors, and all are stellar. We got the a passion fruit scone and the coconut ube scone, and tried the strawberry and the blueberry lemon. I also like that they offer different sizes of scones, which is good for kids or if you want to try a couple flavors. The ambiance is so cute and service is also great. The matcha was good as well. Highly recommend!
A great cafe for tea & scones. I had the rosemary & fig sweet and the cheese & chive savory. Both were baked perfectly and came with proper clotted. They do also have coffee options, but the main focus seems to be on tea, scones, sandwiches and pastries. Sugarbird also offers offers the proper English 'Afternoon Tea' for those want to give that a go. I have yet to try it, but imagine it would be as high quality as the rest of my experience.
Beautiful cute tea experience. I have been wanting to take my mom to a tea experience and this place was perfect! I was disappointed that there wasn't any sandwiches when I came and unfortunately they were out of certain tea however that did not take away from the experience. The staff was sweet, clean, thoughtful, and efficient. They made both my mom and I feel comfortable. They checked in on us and even let us know that we could refill our tea after my mom had finished her pot. We both had mini scones and were quite full. The scones were delicious and moist without being overly sweet. I ordered the willow tea and my mom ordered the Mila. The aroma of the willow was amazing and it had a lovely light flavor. The Mila was smokey and amazing! Best of all there are Vegan scones! I orded some to go because its so rare to find!
I’ve been to about 6 afternoon tea spots in LA and several around the world and when I tell you the scones at SugarBird are out of this world, I mean it! I tried the fig rosemary, lavender white chocolate and lemon blueberry. The clotted cream was perfect too, easily spreadable and actual clotted cream, unlike some shops who serve whipped cream and call it the same. I also bought the tea sandwiches, absolutely delicious, especially the fig Brie and arugula sandwich, perfect savory combo. I had the Fiona iced tea, perfect, not too sweet or bitter. The patio was so lovely to sit in the shade. Absolutely love this place, would definitely come back!
So excited and proud Sugarbird finally has a storefront. My family and I have followed Chef & Owner Kei since it first started and only had regular priority mail delivery and pickup from a co-op location in Downtown LA. I stopped by after the Montrose Farmers Market, where Sugarbird was before and I believe still is for other Farmers Markets, and Kei herself was managing the store. She was nice and really excited to finally have her own storefront. I got a free tea, free clotted cream, the tea sandwich set, six scones ube, lemon blueberry, matcha, fig & rosemary, passionfruit & earl grey and shortbread cookies.
A delightful spot for a cup of tea and a lavender scone. They also have gluten free pastry options. It's quite tiny but the outdoor tables are perfect when the weather is nice.Food: 5/5
Cute little caffe with teas, coffees and delicious scones of all sorts of flavors. I tried the lemon blueberry scone and it was fantastic. The jam and clotted cream are very delicious too, but I wish they would include them in your order. I didn't have to pay for them when I got my single scone and coffee, although it was not offered to me. I had to ask for it. But I had to pay for them when I went back to get 3 more scones to take home.
Made reservations and prepaid for afternoon tea. Everything was delicious but we they were not able to offer enough sandwiches, and had a very limited selection of scones. The staff was apologetic and made the best of the situation by offering some cheese and crackers; however we left disappointed by the experience. It's not like our visit was a surprise.
Just tried it , owner was super nice and helped us out while she was still setting up. We tried 4 different scones and they were all amazing . Place is super nice a little hidden but what gems are not hidden
