Story

The Summerlin Library and Performing Arts Center houses a large collection of materials. Some of the more popular collections include feature films on DVD, a vast collection of music CDs, an expansive collection of large print books, a large fiction collection, and several collections of children’s books, DVDs, early readers and board books.

The library also offers free Internet computer access - including free Wi-Fi.

Other attractive qualities include a 284-seat theater, a 40-seat conference room, four small study rooms, and a used book store.

The staff  doesn't realize the library is paid for by the public and for the public. They feel you're on their turf. They don't like being interrupted if they're talking to each other. You will hear a STERN- "YES"? If they see you waiting to ask a question. When you thank them, don't expect "You're welcome", expect the head to turn away- back the person whom they were chit chatting with or looking up something on the computer. They know they're in a nice library, built by taxpayers money in the best part of Summerlin, perhaps this instigates the attitude. The fact they never speak up to parents who allow their children in the adult section, or for that fact anywhere, to run and shout, and adults to carry on loud, to me, speaks of their lack of respect for the patrons who have the right have quiet. Wake up! We're reading and studying for crying out loud. Unbelievable. SMH.

A beautiful library situated in the center of the Village Center Circle with plenty of parking and good handicap access. Almost disorienting when you first walk in, but it's large and we'll laid out with a very peaceful atmosphere

There's so much more than books offered here. The staff is super helpful and friendly. All kinds of activities for the kids are offered. Great networking system with the other libraries. So happy they do so much. Simply love this place.

I volunteer at this library and I can tell you that it's very quiet. No library is sound proof, but compared to other libraries like the Sahara West Library. Summerlin Library is very peaceful. My bosses are extremely nice and funny. I've made plenty of friends and the smell of books is the greatest. Of course from time to time there are noisy children, but that happens in all libraries. Very organized and small enough to not feel like you're in a void.
