I work at the Villages Walmart the one across the street from the schools. My only mode of transportation is a golf cart. During the hurricane the tunnel from Steak and shake to Walmart suffered some structual damage. I called them asking them if there was an alternate route to get there. I was trying to be honest. To do this the correct and legal way. They were no help. They pretty much told me to call FEMA. I don't know how FEMA is going to help. I have no one to get to work. I have bills and stuff to pay.

My mother in law was in the back seat of her van and they were pulled over on 466. The officer said he saw her putting on her seatbelt and pulled them over to warn her. I looked it up and rear seat passengers over 18 are not required by Florida law to wear a seatbelt. I called the station and was informed that there is no way for the officers to know every law. I was told that I am correct that she wasn't breaking the law. If your officer is using the seatbelt law as his reason for making the traffic stop he should know what the law is.

To often most of mankind tend highlight the negative that exist in our world and leave the positive silenced, but today I decided to accentuate a positive. On September 16, 2016 at approximately 6:45 pm, while en-route to an appointment I noticed a sheriff's vehicle parked on the side of the road. I was driving the speed limit and had not worries until I saw the car soon pull out, being a sign he had zeroed in on me. Darkness was falling and and county road 476 was even darker. The officer eventually pulled behind me and I wondered what on earth had I done wrong? The vehicle lights soon came on and I shuttered. An African American, driving a black vehicle on a dark road at night. I was professional as I always am with authorities. I stuck my hands out the window revealing no threat as the officer walked up to my window. At that time I greeted him and he kindly asked me to put my hands back in the car. He then said very politely sir did you know you have no running lights on? The officer a tall you Caucasian told me he had actually lost sight of me because of the lights not being on. I had no idea and immediately realized how dangerous my driving such a vehicle was. He asked for the usual credentials returned and issued a warning. Why am I sharing all this information? Because that young officer, Micheal D. Cook presented himself as true public servant, especially in a time when other officers across the country abuse their power. Every officer cannot be judged upon the bad decision of another officer in another state or jurisdiction, yet on that dark night and empty road this young officer could have responded totally different, yet he demonstrated the "Golden Rule" of treat others the way you would want to be treated. I had a blown fuse and have likely been a driving night hazard for some time. Thank you officer Michael D. Cook for setting the example of how a true public servant should perform, even if you had cited me I would have still applauded your professionalism.
