We love this campground. Yes, it's just a big parking lot but damn it's a fun one in the middle of one of the most breath taking vistas in the world. With the overflow camp ground, I can't see that this place ever fills up. Simple restrooms in the campground but showers ( and a pool! ) are only $5/day across the street at Furnace Creek.

It is the most basic of campgrounds. There were spa for the tent, spots to go to the bathroom, and water. If you sleep in a tent it might be hard to hammer in stakes. You need a good ground cover to protect from the rocks. The wind was also very active when we arrived. It made setting up a tent difficult.

It's a "campground" by definition only. It's really a gravel lot with painted stripes and bathrooms. But, it usually always has availablitiy.

One star for tent camping. Pros: - Centrally located in Furnace Creek - Flush toilets - Tons of RVs so: -- the community fire pits (2 for entire campground) were empty -- the bathrooms (sinks, mirrors and toilets) are fairly unused Cons - This is a parking lot, literally a parking lot with gravel in the parking spaces - No picnic tables - No fire pits at sites - No trees or vegetation at all (see "this is a parking lot") - Tons of RVs so the first generator turned on at 6:57am (generator hours are from 7am - 9pm) If you want to be centrally located, Texas Springs is 1000% better and is just up and around the hill behind Sunset. It has the usually desert vegetation, picnic tables and site firepits.

Drove past, it's a huge parking lot, you're still camping in the desert, so it's better than many places on earth, but you're camping in a car park in the desert
