Received a speeding ticket in Turner County. I've been trying to contest the ticket and have gotten no help. Recently, I spoke to the clerk of courts and was informed that there's no way to contest the ticket without being there in person. The deputy that issued the citation wouldn't show me the radar to prove I was speeding, and I feel he picked me out of the traffic because I was driving a black Range Rover with out of state plates. Now, I'm supposed to make multiple appearances to fight it. This will cost far more than the ticket itself, considering I live in Florida. I tell everyone I know to stay far away from this redneck county.
I am so frustrated with this court. I received a ticket April 19th, 2020 for going 91 on the interstate mind you I live in Central Florida. I was the only florida plate in a group of at least 10 cars going the same speed as me. I received a ticket and tried to pay it within the week of receiving it. My ticket was not in the system they use. I tried again multiple times over the course of two months. I wrote it off considering it clearly wasn’t on file and the office never answered their phones. I then receive a court notice MONTHS AFTER THE TICKET saying I needed to be in court 3 days from the day I received it. Again, I live hours away and I own a business so that simply wasn’t going to happen. I then receive a failure to appear notice. After speaking to multiple representatives I was finally able to pay this outstanding ticket. I thought I was done… WRONG. A few days ago I receive a notice saying that my license will be suspended unless I pay a “Super speeder fee”. Why was this “fee” not included in the $600+ ticket I paid for? I thought this was all resolved. I’m frustrated, and speaking with the representative was a completely waste of time. She had a horrible attitude and was unable to help me whatsoever.
Most unprofessional clerk I have ever had to deal with. Bc of their offices sloppy work, I never received a notice to appear and I received a failure to appear at a different address. They had the wrong one on file. She yelled at me and belittled me, mocked me for being a hurricane victim. Just rude, nasty and unprofessional. Mary L Green, your office is SLOPPY.
Speed trap, if you’re a tourist set your cruise control and record it. Then record Eric Hair making false claims during your stop. This is the good ol’ boy inbred county that shames Georgia.
This is a town the will charge you twice for a ticket because they didn’t correctly record receiving you payment the first time! Yes that’s right they charged me twice for my citation first time I came to court and made a payment the drive was almost 3 hours from where I lived! I moved since my court date thinking nothing of it miss placed my receipt only to find out 3 months after paying the ticket they say no record was found! If I can give zero stars to this crooked town court house I would!
I can not get in contact with no one in this court system they waited a whole 2 months to put the ticket in the system mind you I stay in central Florida so I can’t just go up there to the court house and they said I have until the end of this month to pay this ticket when it was just put in their system and I got the ticket in January
Their website says to email the clerk of court to be put on a docket just to get another so call ticket amount that I know I paid over five years ago this county is a rip off

By reading the comment I believe they are targeting people in Florida for speeding for money. This should get awareness. I’m going through the same thing. This court needs an entire revamp, it’s so old and currupt.
