Wonderful place with so much preserved history. Setting foot in this gorgeous dancehall makes you feel like someone just turned back the clock 60 years. If you haven't checked it out, it's only 8 minutes off Interstate 35 and it's well worth a visit. Situated right on the lake shoreline boulevard ... very picturesque. Must see.

The atmosphere here can't be explained! I attend 6-12 concerts or events here each year. If attending a concert there is not a bad seat anywhere in here. I've attended everything from a company Christmas party to a Charlie Daniel's Band concert. If you have not been here before you need to add it to your bucket list.

We recently returned home from a three week cross-country road trip. We saw a LOT of stuff like Route 66, Yosemite National Park, beautiful beaches, large cities, Yellowstone National Park, and many other things. Seeing the Surf Ballroom was pretty much one of our last stops before returning home, but it was also one of the most memorable. I really thought it would be a five minute stop and I wasn't overly excited about it, but it turned out to be one of the best places we saw. This entire venue is like a time capsule you can walk around and explore. I began wishing that I was a teenager in the 50s seeing a show here. I silently walked around envisioning crowds dancing on the dance floor and people eating at the booths while watching bands on the stage. I appreciate that they saved them place from being torn down. How sad it would have been to have lost such a gem as the Surf Ballroom. P.S. My husband, our 14 year-old son, and I loved exploring the backstage area with the signatures on the walls. I could have spent a couple of hours in there alone!

The Surf Ballroom is almost sacred. We have been going for many years. The music is great, the lust of 50s 60s big names is endless. Last night was Dick Dale. What a legend and can he play!!! The town is quaint and friendly and the lake is beautiful

It was great to see the Surf Ballroom. The venue is steeped in rock & roll history. Very nice facility with great cool air conditioning. Raised a beer and got back on the road for RAGBRAI 2017
