Fire Prevention, protection and life safety
Dedicated October 16, 1999 the Town of Surf City Fire Department opened its doors for fire protection and life safety to the citizens and visitors of Surf City on July 1, 1999.
Your Fire Department is manned with 15 full time paid firefighters and 20 volunteer firefighters. The paid staff work 24 hour shifts, comprised of 5 firefighters split between 2 stations in order to provide round the clock fire protection services. The Chief and Assistant Chiefs work Monday through Friday during business hours and are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Surf City Fire Department will proudly and continuously protect life, property and the environment from fire, medical emergencies, natural disasters and other emergencies for those who live, work and travel in and throughout the Town of Surf City and surrounding districts with competent, professional and honest personnel.
