Absolutely excellent experience, the fish were superb and we truly enjoyed interacting with the chefs. So many amazing combinations of temperature, texture and taste. While i did read the low reviews before going i did notice that the sake options and extra pieces of fish that were offered did not mention exactly how much the extra options were. Most of the best restaurants always provide the price right after they present an options that’s not on the menu. It’ll save your guest the surprise of the bill later or the awkwardness of having to ask in-front of other people. I think it shows considerations for peoples circumstances and the respect for them to chose what they want
This was a wonderful experience. The staff was very welcoming and the food was incredible. The escolar and mackerel were top notch. I was apprehensive about going after reading the reviews but I can say that the staff were all very transparent about pricing. We were offered additional food at the end of our dinner experience but they were upfront about it being extra $$. I am assuming they have taken the feedback and gone out of their way to ensure there’s no ambiguity about the bill for customers.
Great dining experience. The chefs and bartender were all fantastic and the sushi was top notch. As far as pricing, everything was stated to us clearly. As long as you don’t expect to get any extras for free, you won’t have any problems. Would love to go back.
I absolutely loved this experience! The food was amazing, the bartender was incredibly knowledgeable, and the overall experience is truly unforgettable. I’m very happy I went, and i’ll definitely return once they open their permanent location in Miami :
Not worth it. All the reviews are accurate. Quality of ingredients is good but they make it seem like you’re spending $165 per person and then Leave paying $400 per person. It’s not a problem if they just advertise it that way. They don’t care because people keep going… the “sake” tasting is terrible for the $110 you’re paying. This is the worst omakase in all of Miami by a long shot.
Miami needed such an amazing Omakaze experience. Quality of the fish is TOP. Setting is perfect. Such an intimate and perfect experience!!
What an experience. You need to understand what your paying for to appreciate it. If you’re thinking you’re going to a regular sushi restaurant. You’ll be mistaken. But happily surprised. Consider this more like dinner theater with incredibly sourced fish you will have a hard time tasting anywhere in the world—yet alone all together in the same evening. I went for a date night with my husband. And we both left on cloud nine. It was the best tasting of fish we have ever had. And the experience was amazing. So intimate. We also learned so much about what we were eating. And conversed with some incredible chefs, and the other patrons. We didn’t partake in the additionally priced sake tastings or cocktails, but they also looked incredible. We will happily return.
Chris, Kevin, and Nick were our chefs, and honestly they must be the best sushi chefs in Miami. Even at the end of our meal when they went off menu costs extra, and only available since we had extra time left they created some of the most amazing food I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. Ana was our bartender, she was warm and inviting, and our experience would not have been complete without her amazing curation of drinks and cocktails to pair with our food. Everything was fantastic and Sushi by Scratch deserves all the accolades and praise they’ve received. Thank you all for a wonderful experience, and we’d love to come back!
I don’t know of a single restaurant in Miami that is more expensive than this location yet I know plenty that have better food, service, and ambiance / decor. They said we were lucky to have the last seating. They should of said that THEY were lucky for having us as the last seating since they get to over charge us. Totally not worth the over $430 per person without even having a good bottle of wine.
Went for the last seating, they made it seem as if we are lucky but it really just means that we were the group that gets hustled. Other Omakase's we have been to offer a few extra pieces at the end of dinner as a treat. The offered it here as well but did not mention it was $25 a piece! They even have you pay outside the venue separately from everyone else so that no one else can hear you complain. Plenty of better restaurants you can eat at in Miami for $400 per person. They also misrepresent the drinking pairing. I don't think they understand the Miami crowd, people here don't mind spending the money, but they do mind the bait and switch.
