Come visit the Susquehanna Museum of Havre de Grace located at the Lock House.
We are open weekends April through October.
Built in 1840, the Lock House served as home to the Lock Tender and as office for the Toll Collector of the Susquehanna and Tidewater Canal, which was in operation from 1840 to the 1890s.
Now the Lock House is home to the Susquehanna Museum, which displays exhibits about the canal, the house, and the city of Havre de Grace. The museum also hosts special events, such as Pirate Fest (June), the Haunted Lock House (October), and the Candlelight Tour (December).
We are Free and open to the public Thursday through Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 from beginning of April to the end of October. We hope to see you soon!
