Sweetwater is heaven on earth to me. My family started camping there in 1958 when the place opened. That means my family has almost 60 years of unforgettable memories here. Their staff is amazing. Clean and convenient bathrooms with free hot showers. The site and nice and clean and private.

Good campground. Love that they offer canoe rentals and have a general store. The staff were very good and exceptionally professional. Pointed out the number to call if there was an issue at night so they could deal with it. MY mistake was not dialing that into my phone for easy access. The couple that were camping just across from us were fine the first night, but remarkably clueless the next night. Quiet hours are from 9:00 on; I had to pay this couple a visit as I was not able to sleep. NOT a reflection on the campsite. Just something to pass on...

This is a very nice family campground. It is clean and quite. The staff is friendly and helpful. The best part for me is they allow dogs!!! They also have a doggy daycare. We did not use it but it's nice to know it's there if needed

We camped for 8 wonderful days in our 45] Entegra Cornerstone; this is a big rig for this vintage style campground; no rows of camp site here. Every site has its won nestled in the woods location and the shade make the site cool during the day and night. The owners were over the top accommodating. First, they provided us a double site for our rig. Second, I had some maintenance issues which Jim and Brian (the father and son owners) helped me with. They wouldn't take money for helping me so I got even by leaving their daughter an envelope with some cash and a note of thanks. This place provide real New England Hospitality.

Awful. From arrival to departure, absolutely freaking awful! Upon arriving, we were greeted by a girl who has no experience in customer service, nor had she ever received training or actually applied the training if she has (either way, she gets a royal 'F'). She should go back to cleaning toilets, but probably can't do that right either. Was rude the entire time of checking in. She asked me how old my child was, and after I told her how old my child was, she found it appropriate to ask my child if that was indeed true. I told her not to talk to my kid, period. She snapped back with "I'm just asking how old your child is!" Maybe it's customary to patronize your customers, along with really terrible customer service, but it's actually disgusting and classless behavior. We even said "thank you" upon the ending of her terrible service, just to be ignored and dismissed after she was done with her spiel. If you're actually looking for a classy experience with people who are actually appreciative of your patronage, this is NOT the place. Aside from the terrible customer service in the office, I then try to go to sleep. If you came for sleep, don't plan on that either! They have "rules" that are simply not enforced. I made multiple calls to their "emergency number" every single night that I was here due to noise and drunk complaints. I had the great pleasure of being placed beside a drunk who thought it was appropriate to shout, belch, sing, play his guitar, and drive drunk to the front to show his friends where the party was at his camp site to his buddies after hours, who were also supplying more beer! His guests left, eventually, driving drunk. That's quality! I was also in the middle of a boy scout troop who is very seemingly unsupervised or supervised by children or adults who act as such. They too, don't know what quiet hours are, nor do they have common sense or decency. I'm also right next to the bathroom. The bathroom is seemingly a place where you get to scream, shout, giggle and just be obnoxious AF no matter the hour! The really fun part is when you call the joke of the "emergency line" is that they don't even answer it if they're sleeping or who knows what! I've called over a dozen times to no avail. Of course the lowlife at the counter didn't mark on the map where the managers house is, but it's really not my job to go up there, and as much as I would love to, my boyfriend went to the laundry mat to dry our stuff since he cannot sleep either. When you do put in a call, and IF they decide to answer, they will come down and very nicely tell the people breaking rules "that this is a quiet hours friendly reminder". Really? What the hell is that going to do? How about a warning? Or maybe tell the guy to put his guitar away, or that he's cut off from the booze, etc? And then when they call you a MF while the "friendly reminder" guy is driving away, you don't turn around and kick him out for the language and the yelling?! It's really amazing. And by amazing, this is not a compliment to this establishment. I would get better sleep sleeping in my car, on the side of the highway. So not even worth $36 a night. I basically paid $36 to come park my car at this crappy place. No idea why people are complaining about the pond when this place has far bigger problems. And who the hell wants to swing in a swamp full of snapping turtles to begin with?! Those are from people who only have really minute points and just want to find something else to complain about. BTW, you're welcome! And stay the hell away from here if you are actually looking for a family experience with early shut eye so you can enjoy the Cape during the days. This is merely a glorified trailer park, and no, not the RV kind. Full of drunks, drunk drivers and who the hell knows what else. But thank you for the lifelong experience that is forever burned in my mind. I will never forget why I should never come here again. The rude girl at the counter was more than enough for me and should have been everything I needed to know for what was to come when staying here.
