Couldnt ask for a better place to camp and the staff is friendly and understanding to everyone's needs. Great  all the way around experience and very clean place. I come here often and will continue in the future I recommend this place to everyone young and old

For the last 2 1/2 years we've had our family pictures taken there. The whole entire area is gorgeous. We've never camped there, but I've heard great experiences from friends. I love the colors in the spring and fall, always beautiful. Tomorrow will be our 3rd. time taking family photos, and I can't wait. If you're ever wanting a spot to get married, I would choose this place. Is a place to kick back, camp, have picnics, take pictures, and relax.

This was our third year camping here. We had small problems the last two years, but for the most part we found it to be a nice camping ground, at least enough to come back. THIS year however we had the worst camping experience of our lives. While trying to take our son and dogs to the day park, one of our dogs was attacked by another dog. Our dog was on a leash, theirs was not. Our dog sustained multiple lacerations and when we approached the campers with the dog we were cursed at and yelled at. We brought it to the caretakers attention, only to find these campers were friends with the caretakers! 
After being told we would be taken care of, the caretaker did literally absolutely NOTHING for us. 

Why write a google review? Seemingly to simply complain but no; aside from feeling that this situation was handled completely incorrectly, legally and just in the eyes of everyone who truly saw what happened, I do not wish this experience upon anyone and TRUST me the campsite is not beautiful enough to risk you or your family's safety somewhere no one will do anything. 

Drive the extra 17 minutes down Hwy 20 to go to the dam and camp at Skippers Cove where the employees that work there actually take care of their customers, friends or not.

Quite place to go. Small area for granddaughter to play in shallow water good place to take dogs to swim. River access great place to launch small boats canoes...

This place is beautiful. It has a separate day use area away from the overnight camping area. The bathrooms are clean and include showers, and have been redone after the flood.

As for water access, in the day use area there is everything from a small trickling brook, to a small, slow moving river that is somewhat warm in the shallows and a bit colder in the deeper parts. It has a ramp where you can launch canoes and other small water craft. From there it's a short walk to the fast moving, and very cold, Yuba River where the scenery is breathtaking.

There is a wide open area for groups to gather, as the Cherokee do anually, a pavilion, and plenty of woods to explore. Near the river is a covered area with plenty of tables that can be reserved for parties. There are also many other tables and benches scattered around the area for singles or single families.

One thing Sycamore Ranch is not short on is wild animals. From birds such as; Heron, Raven, Turkeys, and Vultures; to woodland creatures like Squirrels; to Frogs, Fish, and many others. You will enjoy catching site of each one.

The overnight camping side has many large sites with plenty of trees for shade. There is a larger launching area here that goes straight into the Yuba River.

I go to this place as often as I can and, since the day use area is free and open from 1/2 hour after sunrise to 1/2 hour before sunset, that is often! I hope you come join me in the beauty of this natural wonder, and please help me keep it clean for us all to enjoy.
