Sylmar Leadership Academy... where can I start besides the awful, hypocritical staff and the series of unfortunate children who feel abandoned by their own education that should be a right? I could go on for more than hours, maybe even years, on just how terrible this school is. Even being an eighth grader myself who has attended the elementary portion for just a year and the middle school for all three. It's shocking really that we students are constantly being told this school is amazing because I can assure you that it is far from it. Based on the seven habits that are focused for a healthy lifestyle this school doesn't let you forget. Instead of having brief reminders that these habits are what shape successful people, we as students could be compared to someone being strapped down to a table and forced to choke on a hand otherwise known as the seven habits. Everyday we recite the pledge of the school and overtime the novelty, usefulness, and value the habits hold continuously fade with the overusage of them. Though not usage as in applying the habits, but usage as in being given a lead journal and paper after paper to grain in the mentioned habits. Ironically the students and my peers seem to dread the mention of the habits, almost like it's a black cat that represents bad luck and in many cases it's just that. For whenever a district memeber or group of people visit, the students are washed over to make it seem like we are the brightest and best of all the others, with proper manners and intriguing conversations. It's funny though because I can say clearly that instead of learning the basics of math, science, history, and so fourth, I've obtained acting as my best subject. The drama teacher left nearly two years ago. Bringing back the mention of the subjects, it may come to a surprise that not even the honors students at the school seem to like the teachers they're supposed to spend every week day with. Not that they're all bad, but mostly the staff and teachers are comparable to rotting apples who don't even practice what they preach. It's astounding how terrible the adults here are. Especially to us, the students who they give little respect for in having our word heard. The people even running the school are like snakes who jump at the slightest opportunity to better themselves and knock off other people. It's cruel that they serve as examples for us because it's clear as a window that most of them hate their job and the students too. So behind all the lies and facade Sylmar Leadership Academy constantly puts up, the school is not something the nurse and her go to bandaids and ice could fix. Instead there needs to be a system where value can be added to the seven habits, students can learn to enjoy their teachers and the subjects they teach, and most definitely a system where no snotty nosed staff memeber is placed at the front desk. It should be time for a change. A time where we as a community pull out the roots of the school and plant stronger seeds that beneifit the environment. Not mow over the weeds and hope they vanish.

The best school ever I love the staff and food. The principal is the best because she controls the school so well.

Horrible against people, and unprofessional. There was this one time when I got hurt(I don't know what it was,)and some old lady was rude to me. My mom got called and my mom had a word or 2 with her. Her face made me laugh. Still though, this school needs to up their game. The mostly have a lot avaible for middle school, while elementary gets nothing at all. This makes me sad for them. They also have boring events like,"Make Your Own Bookmaker!" and "Can Drive For The Poor!" I get the last one was for a good cause, but they need some fun events. Also, their FOOD! Don't get me wrong, their hamburger is great. But the other food is a hot trash mess. Some of their food can even poison you! I know i'm Exaggerating, but please,do something about the food. I advise you to not come to this school. I would give ZERO stars. Their teachers are great though. Teachers, you need to get paid more than that plastic surgery principal.
