Story

The history of Prestwick Golf Club in Scotland and the well-known golfer, Tom Morris, are deeply intertwined. In 1851, Tom Morris was recruited to design the course and worked as a greenkeeper, clubmaker, ballmaker, and golf instructor until 1865. Still, Tom Morris is most renowned as a tournament golfer, having won the British Open Championship four times between 1862 and 1867. All of Tom’s titles were won at Prestwick Golf Club, which hosted the Championship its first 11 years. It's because of this illustrious history that owners Dave and Jeanne Mooty brought Prestwick Golf Club to Woodbury and now bring Tom's legacy to T. Morris Pub & Grill.

I just went to dinner on Tuesday my waitress was Terri, she was the best she made my family and my husband feel so happy and comfortable. she handled  it like a pro when this couple was screaming and yelling at her. We even heard them call her worthless, and they were totally wrong. One of the Best severs,  we try to sit in her section every time.

We dined here this past Friday. We were so impressed. It was incredibly busy and we were added to a waitlist then directed to a bar rail near the window where we could have drinks while we waited for a table. The rail looks out over the course and has a great view. My wife and I decided to stay here for dinner. We asked the manager if this was okay and she was very accommodating, brought us menus, waters, gave us menu recommendations then introduced us to our server. Our server, Kallie, was the best part of the night. My wife is still talking about how great she was; very outgoing, friendly, knowledgeable. The food was also really good. 

We saw all the bad reviews about service before we stopped here (it was our first visit) so we felt compelled to say that we had an amazing time because of the service. Our server and the manager were both spectacular and went above and beyond to ensure we had a nice dinner even though we did not get a table. We would go back just because of them even if our food had sucked this time. Next time, we’ll make a reservation.

One of the worst experiences I have had at a restaurant. I went with a colleague for lunch on Wednesday and needless to say, we will never be back. First, our waitress didn’t even let us sit down before pestering us for drinks. To make matters worse, the waitress smelled so bad that we didn’t even want her at our table or unfortunately, near our food. She then told us that we needed to hurry with our order because she had other stuff to do. We were not thrilled with the service at all; loud and impatient. We ordered the BLTG which was pretty good as well as the crab and avocado salad that came with no trace of avocado. We didn’t ask the waitress because all we wanted to do was leave. The last issue I had was there was no manager in sight the entire afternoon.

Good food just is a long wait. It is a great price for the food. One problem is that with my brother in a wheelchair we had to go from another entrance to get in that took a while to get to.

The portions were quite large, but everything seemed just a bit off: The wedge salad had at least 1/3 cup of dressing dumped on it, shrimp cocktail served awkwardly with no side plate to eat off of, steak served without potatoes and server never came back for me to ask for them until he dropped off the tab. I have to say, the carrot cake was really good though! All the staff here were very young and not well versed in restaurant service, acted too casual for a golf club.

The nose level was so high it was incredibly difficult to carry on a conversation (and the restaurant was busy but not completely full). 

I have to say, I'd take sub-par meal with excellent, courteous service over a five-star meal with poor service any day. I sure hope they get their service figured out, because the location is just so great.
