Wow, this was one of the best meals I've ever had. Every dish was perfectly cooked, seasoned and presented. The flavors were subtle and delicate and each bite was exquisite, you could tell the chefs cared deeply about their food. I am blown away.Food: 5/5
Tango serves Indian tapas-style dishes, which are small portions that are ideal for sharing. Our server was incredibly attentive and provided us with valuable guidance in selecting the right dishes for us since we are vegans. Overall, we had a delightful dining experience.Recommended dishesSabudana Vada, Aloo Chaat
We had drinks mock tails and food here. 1. I love the service, she even brought us lemon juice and raw onion as sides upon request! The staff is extremely friendly and fun to talk to! 2. The drinks were too good ! The chilli mango drink was delicious and she even customised a tamarind coke for us which was just amazing! 3. The food could use more flavour but love how fresh it was, the quantity and the presentation. Over all this was an amazing dining experience with pretty ambience and would definitely go back, this restaurant deserves a 4.8
Overall rating: 4.5 I’ve been here twice, and I loveee the happy hour. Note, it’s only on T-Th 5-7pm. I tried to come on a Monday around the time & failed I don’t know how else to describe this grilled cheese to you, but it was soo good. It was so good that I still think about it. I usually don’t lovee fusion, but this dish I NEED. We had some other dishes that I can’t place, but hopefully the pictures help. The second time I went, the food was okay. It was a different menu and very spicy. Both times, the service was goood. But hard to track down & order. The drinks were just okay as well. I wanted more mango. Don’t come here for cocktails, come here for the grilled cheese happy hour. Will definitely be back soon.
Tagmo, which translates to Tigress, is making a slow roar in the buzzing NYC restaurant scene. Located in the Seaport district near BK bridge, Tagmo is trying to create its mark with a compelling compact menu of familiar & regionally unique dishes served in a semi-upscale setting. The moment you walk in, you immediately start getting a warm homey cafe vibe with a pleasantly painted wall decked with antique filled wooden lit shelves and a couple tables to chill. As you loft up a few steps, they have a beautiful main seating area lit nicely with soft white & soothing plants. On your table, the way of placing cutlery wrapped in colored napkin held by a decorated bangle is thoughtful. The servers are also very pleasant & describe the menu well. Being an Indian myself, I didn’t quite need a description as menu items like Khandvi, Chaat, Sabudana vada just gushed in a sense of nostalgia from my home. We ended up ordering Khandvi, Aloo Chaat, Veg Biryani, Saag Paneer, Roohafza Spritz & some wine. While each dish looks mouthwatering & is presented elegantly, the flavors don’t quite hit the spot. Definitely felt a bit underwhelmed with the spice levels. Every dish delivers a delicate flavor that may work well for many, but i was looking for a one-bite throwback, perhaps a richer slightly punchier flavor which none of these dishes have. Moreover every item in my opinion is overpriced compared to the quantity served & the taste satisfaction it should provide. Especially its a bit ironic when they’re offering home-style food at a premium. Tagmo may be a good introduction to new Indian dishes for many. The small menu is still commendable with a decent effort to elevate the dishes. I would recommend this place for someone with a penchant for Indian food with just mild spice preferences. I’m debating a second visit, perhaps for a non-veg encounter, but the Tigress better get her spice right next time!
We had a nice brunch here on Saturday. I liked the variety on the menu and found all the dishes delicious. The service and ambiance were excellent as well. I look forward to trying their dinner menu
We went there for dinner after a long, tiring flight from London seeking sone interesting yet mild comfort Indian food. We tried the Tandoori Paneer. Khichadi, Kadi Pakoda, Methi Paratha with rice and mango pickles. My favourite dish has to be the Kadi Pakoda 10/10! Food is good, portion size medium and staff are very friendly. Interesting to note that the word ‘Tagmo’ means ‘Tigress’ in Bhutanese and the decor welcomes you with a mighty tigress at the entrance.
4.5/5 We tried the sabudana vada, masala melt sandwich, eral chukka, mango lassi and the firni. The food was really good! The lassi was amazing - not too sweet and didn’t taste artificial. The firni had a heavy hit of kesar but it tasted nice. It’s great that they have sabudana vada since it’s not a common menu item in Indian restaurants in NYC. The ambience was great. We went for brunch late on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn’t crowded. They had Bollywood music playing and it created a good vibe. The only downside is that this restaurant is expensive. I would still recommend this place for good food and a good time!
Absolutely a must visit restaurant! The well decorated restaurant, excellent staff, and elegant cocktails elevate your mood and senses while you peruse the menu. Then, the food arrives and wows you. Some dishes are simple homestyle dishes with a twist while others are fusion delights.
I had a beautiful Saturday evening this weekend thanks to the wonderful Tagmo family and their authentic menu. A large part of my amazing dinning experience was due the warm smiles of the staff and the superb person named Grace who shared wonderful recommendations with me . I got to meet Chef Surbhi too, who represented the amazing Indian culture - full of authenticity, respect for all , and lots of love. At Tagmo, I tried sabudana vada, khandavi, methi thepla, and kalan kuzhambu. The green chutney that came with sabudana vada deserves a shout out of its own. Loved it! Khandavi and thepla were amazing additions to the menu from the Gujrati cuisine. It took me right back to home. Kalan Kuzhambu was a hands-down surprising star of the the evening - it is a Tamil influenced mushroom delicacy with corn yum! and coconut curry. I also tried the mango chili drink with ginger and chili - loved it! Thank you for a lovely evening, I recommend Tagmo and would love to return soon.
