If you are looking for a boat ride with scenery fine but you are hoping to see the falls without a long walk down steep stairs then this is NOT for you. The pictures that show the boat in front of the falls is false. Next time I will save my money and go straight to the falls and see both upper and lower falls. Waste of money

The train ride and riverboat ride is good if that is what you are looking for, but if the end results are a beautiful view of the falls you will be disappointed. The falls face the state park so you only get to see them from a back angle. Get the recreation passport and view the front of the falls from the state park. It's a lot easier and cheaper.

THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM TOURIST TRAP!! READ ALL THE REVIEWS NOT JUST FROM THIS SITE, ESPECIALLY THE POOR RATING ONES AND THEN READ THE OWNERS RESPONSES TO ALL OF THEM - VERY DISREGARDING AND CONDESCENDING, TOTALLY TALKING OVER AND AROUND THE NEGATIVE POINTS. I can't even begin to tell you to NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY !! FIRST, I'll just start from the beginning, the parking. They make you park in rows, so if you're not the first car, good luck getting out, you'll have to wait until over 50+ people get ready to leave. SECOND - the train ride. Unless you like to bird watch, look at trees (that you would have already seen on your drives through the U.P., mosquitoes and that's it (there are no bears, or wolves or anything of the sort - I truly believe they took pictures of the bears from OSWALD'S BEAR RANCH and put them in their brochures/ads). THIRD - the infamous boat ride. The longest boring 2 hours of your life. THERE IS NOTHING TO SEE. Yes, you are on the river, but there is pretty much nothing else to look at for 2 HOURS except for more of the same trees and a few run down hunters cabins. NOTHING EXCITING. FOURTH - DO NOT THINK YOU ARE GOING TO SEE THE FALLS. You arrive at their 5/8 mile hike. More like 1 mile of hills and mush and more mosquitoes. You arrive to either going left to see the "top" of the Tahquamenon Falls. Uh, that's a joke. You have to take about 50-60 stairs to see NOTHING. You DO NOT SEE THE FALLS. WHAT YOU SEE IS PEOPLE ACROSS THE FALLS FROM THE STATE PARK SEEING THE FALLS BECAUSE THAT'S THE ONLY WAY TO SEE THEM. this place was a joke. I couldn't be more disappointed and pissed off by this point. Didn't even bother going down the 70 steps to see the bottom on the falls. $94 (for 2 people) for all this? When I could have seen them from the State Park for 90% cheaper. The pictures they are showing you are false advertisement. Oh and the food and drink on the boat, they only accept cash. And for a cheeseburger that cost $5.95 that came with mayo, ketchup, onion and a pickle, you're better off getting a McDouble from McDonald's. can beer for $3-4. It was seriously the worst experience of the UP. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME !!! IT'S A TOURIST TRAP/SCAM for 6 HOURS. YOUR KIDS WILL HATE YOU AND BE RESTLESS. IT'S NOT FUN FOR CHILDREN AT ALL, WELL MAYBE FOR THE FIRST HOUR AND THAT'S ABOUT IT, PURE TORTURE FOR THE NEXT 5 HOURS. I really expected this to be one of our highlights from our week vacation up North. it ended up being the worst. YOU DO HAVE TO MAKE RESERVATIONS, EVEN IF THEY TELL YOU IT'S ONLY RECOMMENDED. BUT SERIOUSLY, DON'T EVEN BOTHER, TRUST ME, IT IS NOT WORTH YOUR TIME OR MONEY !!!!

So, the parking was fine, the ground was a little moist, the bugs are expected. Not sure why other people reviewing complained about those things. They probably should avoid the upper peninsula and stay in their apartments and condos in the city. They do do a 10% seniors and military discount. If your kid likes trains like mine, then it's ok from that perspective. If your like me and you told your kid your going on a train ride and going to see animals, like me your also probably lying to him or her. We saw some black birds from a long way off and that was it. Based on the terrain and setup for the train, I'd say it's more likely than not that you won't see any "big game" type animals. I would guess the pictures on the website were taken from the tree stands on the property, not the train as it's in motion with passengers. At the midway point they stop and open a snack shack and let you stretch for about 20 minutes. They had outdoor toys and bubbles for the kids there as well. My kid enjoyed that too. All in all, it was ok, and the owners are really nice people! I just felt a little misled by the animals on the website was all. I've seen more animals on US-2 to be honest, and ended up having to go to the Garlyn Zoo to carry out my promise to my son of seeing animals. So.... cool train and scenery, just keep your expectations low on seeing live wildlife. Little expensive for that, but I'm sure it's a necessary cost to keep operating. Don't regret going, but can't see myself doing it again. Probably wouldn't have driven an hour to get there if I would have known.

This is awesome! A train ride and boat ride. Food on the way. A nice hike and lots of wildlife viewing. We even saw bears. The whole family loved it!
