Delicious, atmospheric, and friendly as all get out. My favorite restaurant in Boise. I like the buffet the best for the value and large selection of vegan items (my friends who eat meat enjoy the other dishes). It never seems crowded, and the vibe is casual and relaxed while remaining intimate and charming like a small restaurant should. The owners are the nicest people around. There's no rush whatsoever, which is great because you can sit and chat for an hour, but if you are in a hurry, you might have to ask for your check because they want you to take your time and feel comfortable. Taj Mahal deserves way more business!

Today was my second time here & I was very impressed, again! I am vegan & they have so many vegan dishes to choose from! Everything I've had was delicious! The owners are extremely nice; both times I was there they came to our table to make sure we were happy & satisfied. Last time it was a busy Saturday night & they still made time to check on us personally. I love Taj Mahal!

I was in downtown Boise to take photographs of two dancers. We walked around the area and took pictures for a few hours. Toward the end of the shoot, we tried to get pictures inside some of the local establishments. None would work with us, except for Taj Mahal of Idaho. Not only did they invite us in to take photos of the dancers, but they moved tables, chairs, and did everything they could, to give these dancers room to dance--and for me to get some great pictures. The colors inside are amazing, and the lighting is wonderful. Deep reds and yellows, and the staff were equally brilliant. Who DOES that! I promise to one day go back to actually eat there, but in the mean time, hats off to the warm family that owns the restaurant that was so hospitable!

EXCELLENT Indian food! Fresh and "made to order". The short wait was so worth it. Great atmosphere and staff. I will be back when visiting Boise. ~Make sure you have a Mango Lassi.

Sigh, , We came here because Bombay Grill was closed. Waitress could not communicate in English effectively enough to help us with the menu. We wanted one dinner to share between the two of us.  We had two small dishes plus rice for $36.00 and no drinks for what we thought was one dinner.  When we challenged the waitress on this she had to get the owner because she could not comprehend what we were saying. The food was good but not for the price.  The last time we were there we order a bottle of what we were told was beer which in fact was a mead and it was $25 dollars and not worth it I might add. The owner is very nice and the food is good but the other experiences negate going back. I do believe as another Indian reviewed this place that there is better food for a cheaper price.
