The sushi was great, will definitely go back. Nice atmosphere too! The waitress we had seemed swamped and they had several ladies working at the hostess station/carry out area that could have helped. Regardless, we will return!!Food: 5/5
Eclectic restaurant with half the menu being Asian and half being Southwestern. Firecracker Shrimp is amazing; extra large shrimp, great flavor, huge portions. The sushi rolls are equally good with a variety of unique rolls. Only downside is the tables are on top of each other. You literally are less than a foot from the tables beside you and can hear everyone's conversations. Great place to go for date night or to take guests for a nice night out.
So this is still the best sushi in town. I know it’s a chain, but I have yet to be dissatisfied. There are two, one in surrey center and this one, off Belair, which is, I think is the better of the two. And if you are like me, not a very big sushi person at first, but they sold me when they let you fry the whole roll. That was my way of easing into it, now I eat it normally. I love the fried asparagus that, I think the sauce on top makes it a great bite, and it’s always crispy. The potstickers are great as well. For sushi, I’m a fan of the Kevin roll. The crispy shrimp in the center helps provide crunch to sushi which I enjoy. They have a lot to choose from so try them all. As far as the “taco” part of the house, it’s a southwestern style not traditional Mexican. Which is good, but I’m a traditionalist, but it was still good. Had taquitos, and they were good and a great option when you have that one friend who doesn’t eat seafood but goes with you to a sushi place…lol. I would definitely recommend this place for good sushi.
This is one of my favorite sushi spots in the CSRA! Really love the southwest Tex-Mex type fusion they have on their menu. This makes it easier to dine with friends and family that don’t particularly enjoy sushi. Although if they are new to the sushi experience this would be a great place to take them so they can explore the different options they have. I once brought a friend who didn’t like sushi here and they tried a flash fried breaded sushi roll to start with and loved it. From then on they continued to venture to the other rolls and now they love sushi! They do offer outdoor seating and have another location in Augusta that is a little smaller but still very good. Definitely give this place a try if your in the mood for sushi, nachos, taquitos or even a good burger. Another one of my favorite appetizers is their tempura Asparagus.
the food quality was amazing! i thoroughly enjoyed my meal and will definitely be back when i am in town again. the staff were great as well.
Great sushi rolls & selections, friendly & quick service, get the fried asparagus, and try couple appetizers.
I found out that my best good friend James had never had sushi...until today! Thanks to our friends at Takosushi, I introduced James to the world of this delicious Asian delicacy. For a starter we got the Tempura Asparagus because who can go to Takosushi and not get this dish? I tried to order a safe variety of rolls to ease James into the sushi world. With the help of our waitress, we narrowed it down to three rolls: the Pajama Roll, the Cary's Roll, and the Firecracker Roll. We loved them all, but we both agreed that the Pajama Roll was our favorite. The cucumber, spicy tuna, and crab are a perfect blend of flavors. James loved all the sushi and said he wants to come back. I can't stress how much I recommend trying something new, whether it's a different dish at your favorite restaurant or a whole new restaurant. Just get out there and try something new!
We came here to celebrate my birthday and, being a Friday evening, we expected a longer wait time. We gave our name and the hostess said it would be about 25 minutes. We waited over an hour, and we were finally told that we could be seated if we would take a table outside. We agreed to the outdoor table since it was a decent Fall evening. However, the table was on the back of the building around the corner from most of the other tables. The light on the wall was burned out so it was DARK. We had two small children with us and she put the menus down and walked away. We sat with our flashlights on our phones on to see the menu and waited. It was taking a while and we joked about being forgotten in the dark around the corner. My mom went in to ask them for crayons for the kids and to remind them that we were out there. The server, Bailey, can rushing over and apologized for the long wait but the hostess forgot to tell her she put us out there and that the manager was going to comp our apps. The manager then came out and said he had a table for us inside as fhe hostess was arguing with my mom that since we agreed to the outdoor table, the inside tables were for the customers that came after us. During our dinner the hostess walked by with a nasty look on her face as she obviously whispered and pointed to us with other waitstaff. She was very rude and even continued talking about my family as we were leaving. Food was amazing as always but hostess makes us not want to come back to this location since she was openly hostile towards after she FORGOT TO TELL ANYONE THAT WE WERE OUTSIDE! Manager and Bailey were great. They should probably find a new hostess with a better attitude.
My wife and I went on a Thursday at lunchtime and the place was packed. The staff were very nice and helpful. The restaurant was clean. I had steak tacos and my wife had sushi. She loved her sushi. We went there so she could have it. I wish I could give more details on what she ordered, but all I know is that the fish was cooked. I did not care for my food. Way too much cilantro for me. Also way too much cheese. I would not suggest getting Mexican food there.
My daughter and I had an amazing dinner at Takosushi. The sushi was amazing, I think the roll itself was named the "amazing roll." The service was on point, and we were sat next to a couple that was easy to talk too, who made the experience so laid back. Can't wait to go back for more.Food: 5/5
