This place is amazing! Clean restrooms, delicious food and every type of art you can imagine to purchase. There is a huge selection of souvenirs. They have scheduled films and performances in the auditorium.  There were local artists working on their projects and selling theirs completed items. One was carving bowls out of a log and another had homemade lotions for trial and sale. I needed to mail out a letter, but I had trouble locating a post office. The guest services lady just inside the front door said she would mail it for me when the mail man stopped later that day. Great service!!!

Located on  a mountain ridge near Beckley West Virginia, Tamarack plays host to a bevy of talented local artists and their crafts. Plenty of unique gifts and home decor items  are tastefully displayed in the circular gallery.

Making Tamarack even more tempting to the hungry traveler, is the cafeteria style restaurant with a variety of delicious offerings - from soups, salads, and sandwiches, to delectable entrees,  such as pan-fried rainbow trout, grilled marinated chicken breasts, barbecued pork platters. 

The restaurant at Tamarack serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's the ultimate break for the visitor to West Virginia.

Visited today and had a wonderful lunch of Bacon Mac 'n Cheese with Fried Green Tomatoes! Always an impressive place to stop and so many beautiful piece of art to view. Really wish I could afford to buy some of the bigger pieces, but always fun to look at!

Wonderful circular layout that allows as much walking as you would like (important during a long drive) amid beautiful crafts. I don't frequent tourist stops but was very happy with this one. Will definitely stop again.

So many wonderful things here, staff included.  Gordon and several others I met on 01/14/18 were all so wonderfully helpful and informative.  I've been here in the rain,  on a sunny day and now in the snow.  I could spend hours here.  I did in fact today.  From 5 to almost closing and still felt like I didn't see everything.  This place is amazing.  They also have hands on Experiences here I hope to be back for in the future.  I always look forward to stopping here when travelling through WV.  It really is the Best of WV. Don't forget to try the food.  I had the best chicken pot pie ever today here.
