I didn’t realize that there were two DIFFERENT restaurants in the same building. Their decor is also pretty similar with all the One Piece “WANTED” poster.. don’t be like me and if you’re meeting people for ramen IT’S ON THE GROUND FLOOR. Izakaya I was sitting up there reading their menu for a bit lol has yakitori and Japanese hot pot. I came here with my fam and kiddo on a Friday night. We were able to get a table no problem and there were two different servers manning the restaurant. They were so friendly with our toddler, allowed us to walk around with her so she wouldn’t get fussy during our meal, and were just fantastic. The ramen wasn’t the best I’ve ever had BUT for the price per bowl it’s definitely worth it. We also got a couple of apps which were delicious as well. The best one we ordered, hands down, had to be the agedashi tofu. Usually at other restaurants I’d get a couple small square blocks of fried tofu and some sauce. Here, you get a bunch of bonito flakes that added that extra umami flavor, scallions, and pickled radish. Delish! We were surprised with mochi ice cream on the house at the end of the meal and if that wasn’t a sweet enough deal, if you pay with cash you have an 8% discount. It was definitely one of my family cheaper dinner nights out and we’ll be back again!
This place is extremely hidden gem. Foods were very fresh. And it was very delicious. If you are a big One Piece fan and love Studio Ghibli’s Joe Hisashi musics, this place is the best place. Their service of leaving mochi ice cream as a courtesy service was great as well. Will come back for more.
Very fresh and strong quality based on the good price point. Creative design and clean service Will visit soon !! Highly recommend if you're at the area and want some GOOD food and service. Thank you guys!Food: 5/5
This one used to be nice. But recently is not good any more. 1. Signature Ramen soup taste like water. Chef inside should have changed. Tempura is exactly the one you can buy in Costco frozen food. Will not visit again any more anf would not recommend to friends anymore. I hope their Forest Hill shop can maintain better quality.Service: 2/5
I have always enjoyed the ramen at the different Tamashii locations that I have been to. The broth was incredibly flavorful, with a good balance of umami and depth. The noodles were cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of chewiness. The toppings added a wonderful texture and taste to each bite, and I particularly liked the marinated soft-boiled egg. The meat was flavorful. They also add corn to their ramen which is unique. Great service, cozy location, street parking can be tough.
Not only was the food amazing, the customer service was too! The staff are so accommodating and kind. Fairly priced, as well. The Izakaya section is upstairs and sepeare from the Ramen section, downstairs. Would definitely come back!Food: 5/5
Upstairs is the izakaya and overall, great experience! Food was tasty and fresh, good selection of sake, and service was fantastic our server was very attentive. Not a very big place, so not good for large groups but perfect for more intimate gatherings of 2-4 people.Food: 4/5
Delish ramen place on Bell Blvd. municipal parking around the corner for $1.50/hour. Very friendly staff, nice decor, delicious food, quick service. We ordered: Miso ramen Curry katsu Agedashi Tofu Takoyaki Ebi Potato Ika Kara-age Tako wasabi Avocado salad my favourite Excellent dinner.
Ordered pork katsu, received leather katsu. I have never realized leather is edible and can be actually pretty delicious! Highly recommend to anybody who wants to try eating leather for their dinner.Food: 1/5
I came with my family to try something different and Tamashii did not dissapoint. I order the curry noodles with chicken and it was incredibly delicious! Their plates are actually humongous and even though I do not like spicy stuff, mine had a little touch of spicy but very mild and good.
