I lke tarpon middle, ya there are a few bad things about it but every middle school has that and so it's not our fault.... anyways, tarpon middle has a great pre Cambridge program that allows accelerated students to take accelerated classes instead of having to take regular classes. Each student at the end of the year takes FSA and the school CAN NOT change that because that is a mandatory test.... Tarpon middle is not responsible for if your child gets put into intense reading because of their FSA test.... what they're responsible for is placing your child in the classes efficiently... if they think your child is in too easy of a class they will put you in a higher level class.Yes tarpon middle does have some cussing but don't all schools have that?! I am currently in 6th grade at tarpon middle and I love it!!!!! The teachers are nice the principal is amazing and the staff is fantastic! And no I'm not just writing this because the school forced me to... because they didn't.... but I want to change all of your mindsets about tarpon middle school... TARPON MIDDLE PRIDE ❤️😁❤️💯🔥💯🔥💯 

P.S. Jason Herrington the dance instructor is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is soooo very talented

I transferred my daughter from out of state at the beginning of January after Holiday break. At first, things started off pretty good but quickly it turned into a bullying situation. I contacted the school about this and I got the same old "Your kids education and safety is our #1 priority" but nothing was ever done. The fourth time it happened, I called the Vice Principal and told her that either she can get control of the bullying or I am going to let my child handle it herself, which i was told that I had the wrong mentality. My daughter had a class that she was struggling in and the teacher would do nothing but put the assignment on the board. I can see his frustration as the students would cuss him out and leave his class. As far as accountability of your child, that is to be desired. We were out of town on a Friday and i got a call stating that my daughter was marked absent during 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, & 7th periods. I can assure you that we didn't come back from South Carolina to attend only 5th period and then leave again. I have now entered my child in Home School to avoid the distractions and bullying, however, I am still getting messages that my child was marked absent during all classes except yesterday where she was marked absent during 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 & 7th periods. It seems that nothing has changed since last year.  there are a few faculty members that really care about the students but they are drowned out by the ones who are fed up with the conditions they work in.

I had three daughters to attend Tarpon Springs Middle School. Each of my daughters have moved on to high school in the district and are doing some awesome things...academically and in the way of extracurricular activities. As with all schools, there will be some concerns but it behooves the parent to make those concerns know to school personnel so that they can have the opportunity to take appropriate actions to address the concerns. As an involved parent, I made my concerns known to Dr. Giles, as needed, and her response and the actions taken where done in a professional, caring, and positive manner. I, too agree, that under her leadership, the school's appearance, improvements, the act of basing her decisions on data, giving her students a voice, and visionary thinking continues to drive TSMS in a positive direction where all students can learn.

Does it still say greek power all over the place? Those dumbass sponge divers threw me in a trashcan one time. And they had a guidance counselor that was bangin a couple students (Mr.Brown) they were lucky to keep that quiet and out of the news. When I moved to this school out of state, I noticed the kids were immature and stupid. A lot of dumbasses in FL, but some fun wild ppl too.
