My last review was a little harsh, so I decided to update it.  Definitely deserved more than 1 star.  I do like the atmosphere, and the people running it are friendly, but the coffee is definitely not strong enough for me.  Food is pretty good though.

Every Saturday morning I enjoy breakfast at The Tasteful Bean nearly without fail. It is my favorite way to start my morning. The food is delicious and is made fresh, the tea is phenomenal and the staff are incredibly friendly. This place means so much to myself and my husband as we enjoy the atmosphere together and forget the world a bit.

Good coffee. Tons of flavored whole bean options. Also lots of tea and light food options. Perfect coffeehouse atmosphere.

Excellent coffee and atmosphere. Owner Scott Owens is a generous and enlightened host. Marvelous gem in Hickory. Poetry readings every second Tuesday of the month at 7pm.

Gorgeous decor and comfy seating. Delicious whole foods savory quinoa bowl, Reena's chai tea is delicious. If that's not enough to entice you, they have beautiful artwork for sale here created by local artists.
