I'm only giving this restaurant three stars because I'm hoping that today was a fluke and it's not always this bad. We're staying at a hotel 1 mile away and wanted to stay in for dinner as today was busy. We ordered over the phone and went over to pick the food up. On arrival, the host told my husband was no order under our name. Another individual started the same. Recognizing the voice on the phone who had been sitting there the whole time, he asked her if she knew where the order was. It was ready to go. Keep in mind that it was 1.8 miles to get to the restaurant to pick up the food and 1.8 miles to bring it back to the hotel- when we sat down to eat, our food was cold and soggy. It was extremely disappointing to the point that we only ate the lettuce wraps which were delicious and the chips and salsa which were just ok. We each tried our burgers but the buns were soggy and the pattys were cold so they were just unappetizing. The fries were limp and cold so we didn't bother even tasting them. I'm adding pictures so you can get an idea of what takeout looks like. The lettuce wraps really were excellent so hopefully this experience was just due to an off day for the staff. I don't recommend take out from this restaurant.
Lively atmosphere! We've sampled various foods from French Dip, to Chicken Sandwich, to Stromboli. All have been fine. Seems to be hit or miss. They have a nice patio and a fun looking bar area too. The kitchen is pretty much out in the open so no secrets here.
We had a FANTASTIC experience here! We came early to grab a drink at the bar then went to our table for dinner. We very much enjoyed both atmospheres, and our service was incredible both at the bar and in the dining area. The drinks and food were top-notch. We will absolutely be returning! Thanks for a wonderful evening!
Salad was delicious with the miso dressing and perfectly cooked ahi The pizza had a crispy crust and fennel sausage and caramelized onions. The inside is very nice with a fully open kitchen if you like to creep on the chefs, and quite possibly the nicest patio in the area. The real shocker was that we ordered our food, I went for a quick bathroom break 3-4mins, and when I came back the food was coming out! And it was delicious and not thrown together... I'm still in awe of the Jimmy John's like speed but with twice the flavor! Kudos Tavern 23!
The food was divine and cooked to perfection! We had the ahi tuna sandwich 12/10 and the hickory burger 10/10 and the garlic bread with tomato soup 10/10. Our server was decent but could of been better and the restaurants menu was all over the place hence the 4 stars. Plates weren’t taken off the table for a while there was over 6 people working in our seating area and only 3 tables were sat. Instead of asking if we would like dessert at the end of our meal or giving us the desert menu when we first arrived, it was dropped off at our table as we were about to ask for the check and the waitress kept walking. She came by eventually and we let her know we didn’t want dessert and asked for the check. We got the check and everything was fine. It just seemed kinda rude to just drop off a dessert menu without speaking with us at all and then quickly walking away before we can speak. The other reason for 4 stars is it says American food but there was a TON of Chinese/ Asian food options. That isn’t a bad thing, but the menu was just all over the place with what they offered and we like to have options based on the type of restaurant. We will for sure back though ! I can’t stop thinking about that ahi tuna sandwich .
Sat for 10 minutes before our server greeted us. We ordered food and drinks all at once since we had already had time to look at the menu. Another employee brought our food out to us, and our server didn’t stop by to see if we needed anything until my husband’s meal was gone and mine was almost gone. I got a sandwich with fries, and the fries were way overdone, lukewarm, and hard. Would have asked for new ones plus the sauce I had asked for that didn’t come but…the server didn’t come back to our table. This all would have been totally understandable if they had been busy, but it was quiet, and we kept seeing her over by the kitchen talking to other employees. Terrible service and less than average food.
Everything we ordered were excellent! Beef stroganoff was delicious. Hubby likes the carne asada tacos. Both appetizers avocado egg rolls and garlic bread was superb!
Outstanding food here!!! The staff is super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about all of the food on the menu. I’ve had the Ahi Tuna salad, Tomatillo salad, chopped salad, pepperoni flatbread, pepperoni & sausage pizza, turkey avocado sandwich not my favorite, and California roll - SO FAR. I order the dressing on the side bc they usually add just a bit too much. I cannot wait to try their other food, I’ve only scratched the surface! I prefer the flatbread crust for their pizzas, and their sauce is OUT OF THIS WORLD. They have a killer and affordable happy hour with great food offerings. Happy hour is 2-6 and is available in the bar and on the patio. Expect a BIT of a crowd Tuesday-Thursday.
Atmosphere was great but food wasn’t outstanding. I don’t know that the crispy chicken sandwich was necessary buttermilk fried chicken. The batter was very light and pretty bland. Fries were less than average. I would stick with drinks and apps next time. Service was great!!
I feel this is more an upscaled Applebee's? Or something to compete with Crave. They have sushi, pizza, salads, fried apps, sandwiches and random entrees. You get a big mix of everything here for everyone's needs. If you love going out for food or consider yourself a "foodie" it's just going to be an ok experience. It's a big restaurant and they have a big patio in summer that faces centennial lakes.
