Randomly found this little quirky gem of a restaurant. Wow did we get lucky!! Ambiance is family like - warm, welcoming, attentive, and kind. The food - OH THE FOOD - is truly amazing! Truly homemade, old world, delicious, and obvious love put into every dish. My husband and I were beyond delighted and we both ate entirely TOO much!! The entire pre dice meal was  a true treat and we will most definitely be back. Call ahead as it’s reservations only. Well worth your time and palette.

Absolutely Fabulous!  We’ve never been to Athens before, just stopped to visit family over the weekend. We were looking for great food….we found it at Tavolino, exceptional real Italian. We try to visit Local restaurants whenever possible 99.999% of the time.  Quaint and intimate, reservations onlydon’t let that sway you, make the call you won’t be disappointed. Now, the food….drum roll please very delicious, authentic home made pasta.  Dinner tonight, Meatballs and pasta, I am not a pasta person…however if I had homemade every time like this I would be converted to eat pasta a lot…the flavor was noticeable better then any I’ve had before… Funny, she has a t-shirt, “biggest balls in Athens, Ohio”, very true…meatballs were huge the marinara sauce perfect. Desert, death by cannoli’s and vegan lemon cake with blackberry reduction both were yummy, for me though the Vegan Lemon was sensational!  Atmosphere, small and intimate….perfect, Tavolino is not loud. The owner and staff are lovely and personable people, I feel privileged to have met them.  Give them a try.

Traveled from Michigan to Hocking Hills roughly a 30 minute drive to Athens for a weekend getaway with my husband. Dinner at Tavolino was the highlight of our trip! The outside does not prepare you for the atmosphere and dinning experience on the inside! The chef and waitress were second to none. The four course meal with two options were awesome, we seen another couple who brought in their own wine which I thought was very neat. My husband, who usually isn’t very adventurous with his taste buds was in disbelief at how amazing our spontaneous dinner location was. Listening to how the chef converses with her customers is truly refreshing! Her passion for what she does is portrayed as love in her food! I highly suggest making a reservation, or calling ahead of time. The dinning area is small, yet charming and fills up quick. I hope we make the 5 hour drive to experience a Tavolino experience again. Best wishes to the phenomenal chef and her staff!

Really delicious food! While I have not yet gone for their dinner, the lunches are awesome!

We tried this place for the first time with our family, and it was wonderful. The pricing for a four course, delicious meal can't be beat for the quality of food and service you're getting. We will definitely be back. And we look forward to it.

Bring some wine, and be prepared to have a great time! There was a wait to be seated, however you will find that the experience is well worth the wait. The best, most authentic Italian food I've had. The meals are a delicious daily special 4 course meal, everything was perfectly proportioned and made fresh with love. They do not have a liquor license, but you are able to bring your own bottle of wine in.

Looking at All the great reviews, decided to make the 45 minute drive to try some great Italian! When we arrive we were told that we have just decided to close on Monday because everyone else does. Food May be good but their business skills are definitely lacking. Sounded like they thought it was our fault, how rude!!
