I grew up going to this bookstore and I always come back whenever I'm in Charleston. They offer a great selection of books and I love their section that features Appalachian authors. You can also always find great deals in their used books section.

I love Taylor Books. I'm there almost every weekend. The coffee is good and they offer a variety of teas as well. Wine is also an option at Taylor. 

When you walk in there is a magazine shelf to the right with a wide variety of magazines. The smell of books is everywhere. Down the hall and to the left is a small room usually exhibiting local art. To the right is a small sitting area and the coffee bar. A dessert display tempts you with a few goodies. 

In the back is a used book store within a book store where you can get a nice read at a discount or turn in your own books for credit on used books you may not have read.

Most weekend nights there is live music from local musicians. It's a great place to hang, chill or just get some good coffee.

There is one big glaring problem though, which is why I rate it a 4. If you are a wheelchair user there is no accessible bathroom and the aisles although navigable can be a little difficult especially if you use a manual wheelchair.

Nice staff, beautiful atmosphere, and organized used books. This establishment will definitely make you feel warm and welcome with its well-brewed coffee and friendly company.

Great variety of new and used books and art.  Pleasant way to spend a Saturday morning. Once you have your reading material grab some coffee and a treat.

I love the used book selection they have here.  Staff were helpful with questions. Had a nice cup of tea in the cafe area,  very cozy feel.
