Story

teeny cake was started in 2009 with baker and owner Michelle Mahoney’s endless search for the perfect vanilla cupcake. A chemist by education and a self-taught baker, Michelle is influenced by her Southern and Korean heritage combined with Northern California’s vast array of offerings in creation of her baked from scratch cakes. She continues to chase flavor combinations that elevate the cupcake to a unique dessert and reconstructs comforting childhood sweets into modern classics using the finest ingredients available.

teeny cake offers their fresh and seasonal selections each week as a participant in the Marin Farmers Markets and also caters small and large events throughout the Bay Area. With a loyal fan following including numerous 5-star Yelp reviews, teeny cake has been named to “Best of” lists, including Red Tricycle’s 2013 Winner in the category of Best Cupcake, Bakery & Sweet Shop, CBS Locals’ Best Cupcakes in San Francisco, 2015 Bohemian's Best Party Place, Marin and Finalist in the Guardian’s Best of Bay competition.
