As many resorts as there are nation-wide, Telluride sure takes the cake as being the best all around.  Between the amazing scenery of the box canyon to the long, expansive slopes across the whole mountain, this place never bores you.  The gondola services from the far edge of Mountain Village, to the bottom of the slopes near the main area of Mountain Village, and back up the mountain for an awe-inspiring view of the entrance through the valley.  At the top, a beautiful restaurant named Allred's sits, and the gondola doesn't turn around from there.  One last descent upon the town of Telluride awaits you, and the beauty of this area is intimidating, but more picturesque than any in North America.  Telluride itself is full of laid back people, and is an authentic ski town.  I suggest Steamies burgers off of the main Street for a delectable bite to eat.  And as for the skiing, intense, steep slopes await you, and favorites such as "See Forever" and "Galloping Goose" deliver a view from atop The world, and can rest the legs after some gnarly runs.  There is a reason Telluride is ranked #1 for scenery season after season.  After skiing around Colorado, Telluride is my favorite, and you, too, will come to find that it will be your favorite also.

I live over in Vail and decided to do a (very long) day trip for a car show this past weekend. I'm a Colorado native, but had never been to that part of the state before. What an amazing place. Everyone was super friendly too. I couldn't find a place to park in town due to the car show, so I drove up to Mountain Village and took the gondola back down. There was even free parking!! I definitely wasn't in Vail anymore. Plus, according to their website, lift tickets in the winter start at $87, compared to $119 for the same time frame in Vail. I absolutely loved the authentic ski town vibe that I just don't get back home, and I will definitely be back sometime this winter to try out the slopes. (and hopefully next summer to climb the via ferrata) Keep up the great work.

This is the most amazing ski resort we have visited!  It's the MOST beautiful, very friendly, and the lift lines are rather short. We can't wait to return.
