Story

Tempe Dodge opened in the Tempe Autoplex in May 1993. We started with one basic philosophy...to consistently exceed our customer's expectations. Our customers have shown us great loyalty and support over the years, and because of them, we are now one of the largest Dodge dealerships in the entire USA. In May of 2008, we proudly added the Chrysler & Jeep brands to our lineup.

We feel that we are different from most dealerships. We do not believe in spending huge amounts of money on newspaper ads, or radio and television commercials each month like many of our competitors. That would raise our costs of doing business and we would have to pass those costs on to our customers. That would not be fair. Instead, we chose to build Tempe Dodge one relationship and one customer at a time. Because of this, a large part of our business each month is from repeat and referral customers.

We truly feel that the sale of the vehicle is just the beginning, not the end. Thanks to our loyal customers, our Sales, Parts and Service Departments have grown steadily year after year. We are committed to building and maintaining relationships with our customers throughout the ownership experience. We are very proud that our customers consistently rate Tempe Dodge near the top on Chrysler's Surveys for Sales and Service Satisfaction.

I was very interested in a vehicle and didn’t want anything else (Jeep). I was working with someone over the phone and stressed that I did not want to go to the dealership unless I was completely approved and had an excellent chance of getting the vehicle I wanted. I spoke with a manager a couple days prior to me visiting the dealership today and he looked at my credit, income, etc and explained that I had an excellent chance of getting approved. I even asked him 3 times. So I took off work to go down there and it was a complete waste of my time. Apparently the person I spoke with lied to me and said that I may not get the car I want and if I did want that car, they were trying to tell me that my monthly payment would be twice as much as I wanted to pay. The customer service is horrible and when I walked into the dealership, I did not feel like a valued customer at all. I actually felt some tension and in honesty should have just left. I was actually meeting with someone while we were going over offers and I mentioned that I should just go to a Nissan dealership because they are more reasonable and respectful. He actually agreed and I just got up and walked off. Any good dealership would not just let someone get up and walk away upset and unhappy. Never again.

Due to a major issue om my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I took it to Tempe Dodge last week. I reviewed the issues with Service Advisor, Brett Coleman. He presented every option available to bring the cost down, explaining all the pros and cons. Mr. Coleman was extremely honest and I was impressed with his customer skills and knowledge of the vehicle. At this time, I decided to trade it in and was introduced to Jerry Rush, Sales Professional. Mr. Rush is a professional in every sense of the word. He listened to my requirements and I purchased a 2018 Challenger. Mr. Rush made the process flow easily and kept me updated on every step of the purchase. I had one issue with the Finance department, which I will admit was missed due to my carelessness. I highly recommend Tempe Dodge, in particular, the integrity of Mr. Coleman and Mr. Rush. I believe that these men went above and beyond and I can't speak highly enough of them. Thank you, Ed

Our salesman, Jerry Rush, was great! I told him what I wanted and he found the perfect truck for me. Everything I wanted, and nothing I didn't want. He was friendly, personable, and very good at his job. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the very long wait for all the paperwork to get done. That was on Finance, not Sales. We got a very good deal and I would buy from them again. If you visit, ask for Jerry - he's top rate.

After reading the reviews of this dealership I had mixed feelings about visiting it. Some were great, some awful. It seems that a lot depends on who you get as a sales person. My daughter recently graduated college and had decided she wanted a Wrangler Unlimited. This was one of her first big purchases by herself and it was important to me that she had a good experience. It was the closest Jeep dealership to our house so we decided to give it a try. We were lucky to get Anthony who was very helpful despite the fact we told him that we were not planning to purchase that day. He was very patient in understanding what my daughter was looking for and took plenty of time to show her different options and trade offs and let her drive the best candidates so she could make a decision. IMO Jeep is not the friendliest car company for first time car buyers and doesn't offer incentives for first time car buyers or recent college graduates. Despite all favorable credit so far her lack of credit history was an obstacle. Nevertheless they found us an acceptable financing option based on her own credit and a fair price. Even though we didn't plan to purchase that day we ended up buying the Jeep and she loves it. My advice if you go here (or any dealership for that matter) and you get an abrasive sales person or one you don't feel is listening to your needs is to ask for the sales manager and ask for a different person. The managers at Tempe CJD seem very professional and well intentioned and I am sure that they don't want people like that either. Buying a car is the second biggest purchase many people ever make. There is no reason to put up with someone who is not interested in helping you make the best purchase you can.

I am a transplant from another state and was nervous about how my car was going to be handled at a different dealership. These guys are awesome! They listened carefully to my concerns about my car and took excellent care of it and me. I cannot say enough about the importance of that considering I was stressed already from the demands of the move.
