Large selection, free WiFi, computers, printers (including color), helpful staff, easy to get your card, activities for kids, private rooms, movies, a cafe, and much more. I love this library and I'm there multiple times a week. Check out TPL's online portal too, it has multiple useful features like book requests, book holds, and renewing.

Hi Kathy:

        I visited the technical services suite on the 2nd floor in the library today where a desk personnel, by the name Blanca ( per Mary ( Director of Housing) was working. She was unwelcoming in her demeanor and extremely rude when and writing you to get the behavior addressed. I walked in the office and simply asked how she was doing, to which she replied, " How can I help you?" I repeat my question and she again repeated her question. I left the office to see if I was in the right office and if the supervisor was around. I walked by in. I asked how are you and like a robot she said, " How may I help you?" Then I asked "What is it you do here?". She said, "I'm calling security you need to leave. You're making me feel really uncomfortable." There is no excuse for this type of introductory behavior especially if this is a public facility. I expect to hear from you after you've addressed this outright inappropriate behavior. The library director ( who was also Caucasian) didn't even hear me out.

the staff is very very rude, i felt so humiliated and in tears when they asked me to leave the library because me and my sister were in the teen room which is for ages 12-18 and i am 16 and she is 11 and a security guard kept watching us and kept coming in and out for like 6 times, and then she went and told some lady and this lady came and told us that we couldnt be there and while my sister was going to get teary we left, it is so unfair that we go treated like this, for you're sake and your children do not visit this library the staff is so rude, and disrespectful towards everyone. We did cancel our cards and are now apart of th phoenix public library which is much nicer, and has wonderful amazing staff

Wow look at this Tempe residents have luxury of the Largest Tempe Public Library and they contribute to all schools nearby too. Very relaxing and studious environment for everyone.

Nice Library.  Tell the millennial, Rambo wannabe that was working security, at the desk at around 1:20 pm on 12 January 2017, to lighten up and learn some basic social etiquette.   When I give a "sir," a "please," and a "thank you," I expect  a little more than blowing me off to go back to staring blankly at a cellphone on the job.
