Temple Emanuel is a diverse, welcoming Reform Judaism congregation that enables all to establish a personal connection.
Temple Emanuel is more than a synagogue, it is a home. Our home is a warm, welcoming and dynamic center for Reform Jewish life and learning. Our congregation welcomes each new visitor and makes all who enter feel like family.
Here we love and value the comfort and warmth of tradition. These traditions help us meet the challenges of every day life. At the same time, we encourage unique and innovative ideas that open the doors for spiritual growth and fulfillment. Together we create a vibrant atmosphere that embraces learning for all ages. Through a sacred bond with one another and with Jewish communities everywhere, we seek to teach and promote the principle of Tikkun Olam, “repairing the world”, righteousness and justice.
One of our greatest strengths is our diversity. Our diverse family spans all ages, backgrounds and sexual orientations. We welcome interfaith families and Jews by Choice. Some of our members are from Conservative and Orthodox backgrounds, while many were raised in the Reform movement or are new to Jewish life. We are truly a family of families. We meet people where they are in their lives and grow with them.
Temple Emanuel is a community proud of our almost sixty year history, yet intent upon creating a meaningful future for ourselves and those who come after us.
The Mission of Temple Emanuel is to ensure the perpetuation of the Jewish people and to cultivate a love of our Jewish heritage: God, Torah and Israel.
We are committed to:
Worship (Avodah) – Strengthening our relationship with God in a Reform Jewish congregation that offers a variety of traditional and evolving spiritual practices for the religious development and fulfillment of our members.
Learning (Talmud Torah) – Encouraging lifelong Jewish learning and living from generation to generation.
Community (Kehillah) – Sustaining and enhancing our welcoming dynamic and inclusive congregational family that embraces each of us with support, care and wisdom.
Responsibility (Tikkun Olam) – Perpetuating the ideals of our Jewish ethical heritage to fulfill our responsibilities to our community, our nation and our world.
Our Jewish World (K’Lal Yisrael) – Strengthening our ties and commitment to Israel and the Jewish people of all lands and working to establish understanding and respect among the various expressions of Judaism.
