I was surprised to see fairly low reviews as my experiences here have only been positive. The staff is kind and the chicken teriyaki and katsu don are genuinely good. The prices are also fair even though they’ve gone up a bit with inflation. Still a very solid meal and good portion sizes.Recommended dishesTakoyaki, Chicken Don

Why is it hard to find a decent mall foodcourt -style hibachi spot? Well this ain’t it. Food: not even close to hibachi plates. The flavors, the texture, quality, all off.

I don’t usually do ratings but the food here is just terrible, and the attitude is even worst.

Everything here is delicious and cooked to order. I stop by here almost every time I go shopping at Trader Joe's. The chicken curry in particular is aromatic and savory. The udon is soft and chewy. The portions are large and prices are economical. I highly recommend giving Teppan Territory a try at your next visit to DeKalb Market.

Disappointing meal.  Ordered the chicken yakisoba.  Noodles were bland.  Chicken did not taste fresh.  Probably will not be coming back here.

i'm not sure why the ratings are so low so here's my attempt to change that. the katsu don and oyako don are genuinely good. and the main chef has over 20 years of cooking exp from malaysia and spent 5 years cooking in japan. he makes the dishes quickly and fresh right in front of you, and i can tell he's experienced. it's quickly become one of my goto spots in dekalb market hall  the downside is the order takes awhile to come out because it's made fresh but it's worth it to me

The service is so bad. I ordered and said took out only got a word  “10 minutes” but asked 18% tips at least. There is no service. Btw they didn’t give me a carried bag so I hold the paper bag all my way home. It was so hot. Also all crew are Chinese not Japanese. When she gave me the food she just threw the bag to me without a word and then chatted with her coworkers. It is so rude and I really wish my tip back. I’d rather order a delivery and gave all my tips to the driver. So if you are in the city point and choose one to grab, choose another store. If you really want to choose this one to take out, do not give tips cause you will regret so much in the next 10 minutes. Also the takoyaki is soft like flour paste.

We decided to try this one after seeing quite some prior around their booth, but the taste is the worst Japanese that I have ever tried. While waiting for the food, I was explaining to my daughter why I like to order Japanese because the floor of Japanese food is high. Then, boo, this one hit my fave.

Horrible service. Instead of calling the customers over to pick up their food, the waitress told me to call over those customers. The food is bad, and minimum tip is 18%.

This place is LEGIT! Saw they had a kastu curry dish and had to try it... To say I was satisfied is an understatement. The katsu was cooked perfectly with a great panko crispy breading. Curry was spicy just enough to let you taste all the other vegetables in it. I was extremely happy with what I ordered and will go back for more. Glad this place is in Dekalb Market now!
