Heather failed to listen to me, believe my experiences and disregarded my diagnosis. Instead, she dismissed my concerns and my needs. I made it clear that some of the changes she suggested will drastically affect my ability to function. I agreed that the medications need to be simplified but if I were to follow Heather’s advice, my disorders would go untreated. This didn’t seem to concern her. The final words were callous, informing me that if I didn’t agree with the proposed treatment, I should just go back to my prior psychiatrist and get a band aid.
