The Texas Café & Bar, The Original "Spoon". Serving up Lubbock's best Bar-b-que, Pizza, and Cherry Bombs for over 30 years.
The original Texas Spoon opened in 1980 and has been a Lubbock tradition for over 30 years. It originally started be serving bar-b-que and hosting some of the best live music in town. Some of the bands that began playing at the "Spoon" were the likes of Joe Ely, Stevie Ray Vaughn and David Gilmore. The name the "Spoon" was changed to The Texas Café in the early 90s but the name stuck all these years later. The tradition continues with our home made pit bar-b-que and great live music such as The Darren Welch Group, Elvis T. Busboy, Element, Kinky Wizards, Electric Gypsies, and many more. The "Spoon" is also famous for starting and still hosting Lubbock's Original Open Jam every Sunday night featuring tons of local Lubbock talent as well as out of town visitors that are always known to stop in and perform as well. You never know who you're going to see perform at The Original and now famous Open Jam on Sundays!! You don't want to miss visiting or revisiting this Local Legendary Live Music Hot Spot!!
