I have made 3 visits to the surgery center and have had problems with the nursing staff on each occasion. My polite, friendly, joke cracking friend is terrified of needles..... to the point of possibly passing out. On the first visit the nurse kept agitating my friend, whose blood pressure was borderline too high, because ON THE ORDERS OF THE NURSE WHO CALLED he did not take blood pressure medicine that morning. In the rough hour we were there his bo kept going up.... every time nurse came around.... no procedure this visit. On the next visit, after dr said it was okay to wear underwear choice was long underwear and listen to music to keep calm.  However, once at the clinic, the cell phone was not allowed. The reason cited was privacy.... understandable.... if I wasn’t obviously texting and surfing the internet AT THE SAME TIME my friend is not allowed to use the same phone with headphones to listen to music in the enclosed cubicle. Everyone was fine with my use of the phone... when I could be recording conversations...isn’t that ironic. The third visit... well....underwear and boot socks are allowed but apparently the bare skin between the upper thigh and knee is vital to keeping a sterile environment . Who knew? Honestly, from what I’ve overheard they seem to interact decently with the majority of patients. However, for anyone who requires more “understanding “ and isn’t as impressed with the pre-op staff as they are with themselves I do NOT recommend the Rockwall location. Summary:   voicemail of nurse giving wrong information about taking blood pressure medication Nurse making comments designed to push buttons and upset patients Rules not posted.... important because the rules change change from month to month. Rule enforcement not consistent People skills lacking.... unlike teachers who are trained to work with difficult students,.... no empathy or understanding of fear or accommodations to minimize fear Only anesthesiologist Marie and pre-op nurse Brittany empathic enough to use humor and joke with patient and get their job done. Unfortunate that the rest of Team seems to feel that comforting a patient is beneath their dignity.

Just had my spine surgery done here this Tuesday and I must say I was truly blessed with the best team of doctors I’ve ever met in my whole life, God really blessed me with them because they gave me back my life I was so scared and terrified before going into the OR room but the team that was performing my surgery was so sweet and wonderful they made me feel so safe and the best words I’ve ever heard before came from dr Anton’s pa and I wish I remembered her name but I can’t she told me, in that room we are all family and were all gonna take care of you like family does  I love them all I’m so greatful too them for everything they did for me go for dr Anton and get that team he works with they are all go amazing wonderful loving people
