Overall this is a really good library for tech students! The hours are great, it's very easy to find a place to study, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and they have a really good selection of books. The only con I can think of is I wish they had more leisure books available because some of us like to read for fun. But other than that, it's a great library!

The Library is(was) an all around great place to go study: plenty of books, computers, and private study rooms- oh wait. The multiple study rooms that people paid money to donate for students to study in? Yeah, they essentially took those away from the students. What used to be an effective online-reservation process is now a completely broken mess. The rules were that if a room was empty, you could go in and have some quiet privacy to study in. If someone had a reservation online, and showed up within 15 minutes of their reservation starting, they had the ability to kick anyone already in the room out and use it for themselves. Simple, easy, and effective. Now, you have to go and get a key to unlock the room. Which means only those with a reservation can enter the rooms, eliminating half of the traffic it used to get. If this isn't bad enough, they don't even have enough keys, so you have to escorted up by an employee who unlocks the door for you, like your'e in the 3rd grade again. God forbid you then have to go to the bathroom, and have to choose between wetting yourself or locking yourself out of the room and making another trip to the front desk, only to get escorted back up again, all because the gallon of coffee I drink to keep me going goes right through me. Out of curiosity, I asked an employee why in the world they would implement such a rule, to which the answer was, "Our Boss got bored". Yes, really. That boss deserves one slap on the wrist for making up rules because he's bored, and a second for making a rule that even those 3rd graders who need to be escorted to the bathroom could see is plain stupid. RIP Library.

As a pre-med junior here at TTU, I use to love going to the library to study but not anymore. A great feature use to be their study rooms. However, recently they have introduced an unnecessary key rule. Last night I went to the desk to get the key to one of the study rooms and they didn't have it. After waiting they finally got me into the room and just told me not to leave or it would lock. How am I suppose to not go to the bathroom for 6 hours?!?! During studying even a janitor had to interrupt me to let her in to take the trash out. (They don't have keys.) These study rooms use to be a great resource to students but are now just a pain. I use to see students studying in these all the time and now no one is wanting to go through the hassle of reserving them. I am so disappointed. It feels like my once relaxing study home has turned into a dictatorship. Oh and don't forget to turn the key in at your end time. Even if no one is there to study in the room they will still kick you out. Which doesn't make sense to me. Aren't we suppose to be encouraged to use these rooms? What if a group doesn't show up? Can other students not use these rooms? It makes no sense to me. This has truly ruined my library experience as well as my project member's. Very upsetting. I would highly suggest studying elsewhere.

If they were open all night on the weekends too, that would be beyond helpful since that's when I want and have time to study all night there.

I wish it was open later on weekend nights since that's the only time many grad students have to go work.
