A little pricy, but I like the food. Some of the reviews are complaining because the ribs do not fall off the bone. I personally prefer to chew my meat off the bone because of this: I've talked to BBQ business owners who tell me to get ribs to be fall off the bone tender there are two primary ways. #1. Boil them before smoking them. This removes virtually most of the flavor of the meat so that you only taste the sauce. #2. Cook them for a very long time, which has a tendency to dry out the meat. You end up with dry meat with little flavor that falls off the bone. Another complaint I've heard from reviewers is the lack of a rub on the meat. Texas BBQ traditionally does not use a rub. Saint Louis style BBQ does. This is Texas BBQ as obviously stated by the name of the place. Having lived in Dallas-Fort Worth for several years I've experienced authentic Texas barbecue. While I would not consider this the best that I've had, I can definitely call it one of the two best I've had in Sacramento. I would suggest to try it for yourself. Again it is a little bit pricey but the food is good.

Perfect road house BBQ joint. Prices are ok, and portions are ample. Don't be fooled by an empty parking lot, this place gets busy. This is my BBQ place from now on... :)

It is a very small place! Food is yummy! But it always seems to be hot in here! Only one bathroom it's unisex.

Got the pork baby back rib basket, 21 bucks but so worth it. Fell right off the bone. Love it! Ill be coming back here to get my BBQ fix soon. :D Thanks guys!

I'm always leary of ordering chicken out but their chicken is excellent, very moist, excellent smokey flavor. Even better are the Wings, smoked then fried with their special spicy sauce, phenomenal. Everything here is homemade goodness from the meat to the sides. Eat in but they have a huge take out business and outstanding catering. Catering prices are really reasonable especially for what they provide. Established for over 26 years, Highly recommend Texas West Bar-B-Que.
