It’s good to have this office around. People who lose their jobs should be thankful for this.

With all due respect, Janna Drescher is mistaken about unemployment benefits. In Texas *and by law*, it is the employer who pays their taxes to fund unemployment. That's why a person has to qualify to get that money. No one is holding out on you. I submit to you the corresponding section of the Texas Unemployment Compensation Act; Sec. 204.002. CONTRIBUTION REQUIRED. (a) An employer shall pay a contribution on wages for employment paid during a calendar year or the portion of the calendar year in which the employer is subject to this subtitle. But more importantly, Sec. 204.003. CONTRIBUTION NOT DEDUCTED FROM WAGES. An employer may not deduct any part of a contribution from the wages of an individual in the employer's employ.

If you file unemployment with these people you can almost bet they're gonna deny you. They think the unemployment money coming out of our check is there. But they are wrong. It comes out of our checks and we should be able to draw unemployment anytime we wish. that money is there for us to be able to pay our bills until we find suitable employment.
