Story

In Manhattan in 1965, there was no place where people could go out to meet friends and make new ones in an environment that was at once both relaxed and yet exciting. Then, Alan Stillman opened Fridays as a way, he said, “to meet Pan Am stewardesses.” Suddenly, there was a place with great food, new and exciting drinks and an electric energy. A place where bartenders mixed the environment just as well as they mixed drinks. In short, a place like nowhere else. Today, Fridays in Linden, NJ is still America’s most iconic bar and grill. We embrace and celebrate our heritage as a bar. One that just happens to serve killer food in an environment where it’s always Friday.

So I go to the bar to order mozzarella sticks and wings on football Sunday. I come here somewhat and normally everything is fine. My bartender gives me my food and I begin to eat. I lift one of the pieces of chicken and there is a hair on my plate. I tell the bartender Michelle, who looks at my plate and says it looks like an eyelash, as though I planted it. I was honestly SHOCKED to the point I just stared at her. She “allegedly “ told the manager to come but no one spoke to me about this issue. She just took it off my bill as though this casually happens. Above this TGIF whenever possible.

Party of 8 ordered 6 endless appetizers but the receipt came out longer than necessary. They charged us for every appetizer we ordered in the endless deal. I asked my waitress and she tells us it's for inventory purposes. This might be true, but don't go putting it in the receipt that's over 3 feet long! I had to open up my calculator and make sure everything extra we had got taken off from the overall endless appetizer discount at the bottom. A customer shouldnt have to do this. We were also charged for a game on the tablet that we didn't order but the waitress's family kid did. We know this because our waitress was sitting down with an older gentleman and a kid three booths over. And our tablet wasn't working so we had to ask to split checks the hard way which she was VERY ANGRY about. We came in assuming the tablet would allow us to split our bill. We would have asked prior to sitting if we knew we couldn't split it hassle free. Overall, food was fine. Service and wait time was decent. But after that experience, I'm never coming back to this specific TGIF again.

I went during lunch at a non-busy hour but service was still substantially long. The servers were very kind and attentive, but the food itself had issues. I ordered a salad special but it was covered in so much dressing that it actually burned my mouth and was almost nauseating. The manager was very apologetic. In summary the people were good, the service was long, and some of the food had major issues which weren't worth the relatively expensive prices.

Love this place and the staff! Qua yhe bartender, kerry and Andre the managers are always helpful! I go during lunch and never have problems at this location. I would recommend this place for lunch

Usually have good service but it was slow this time and my waitress wasn't enthusiastic enough maybe next time. Food never disappoints! Bar Service is really good as well.
