The 5 Point Café
"We're open for dine-in & take out and doing everything we can to keep you Covid-Safe!Notorious Diner & Dive Bar with Seattle's BEST HAPPY HOUR. Named the World's Best Dive Bar, and Most Iconic Bar in Washington.Opened in 1929, The 5 Point is one of the longest run family eateries and oldest bars still in existence in Seattle along with our sister The Mecca Cafe just down the road. The 5 Point is a dimly-lit working class dive that serves hearty, inexpensive, unpretentious food with a usually crowded cocktail lounge serving up stiff drinks and raucous conversation. The chicken fried steak still weighs in at 11 ounces “the biggest in Seattle”, and the full menu is available 24/7."

This place is a real gem. We were visiting from Scotland and ended up having breakfast here twice and returned for dinner three times as it's near where we stayed. The food was great, proper comfort food and huge portions! The highlight of our visits was definitely our interactions with the barman, Babe. He is so happy and friendly and the banter with him was good fun, he definitely made us feel very welcome. If you're visiting Seattle and staying nearby then this place is definitely worth a visit. We got chatting to both locals and other visitors, all of whom were very friendly.
This place is an absolute must visit!! Another plus is that they are open 24hrs! We came for a late night dinner. I’m already craving some of their crispy, homemade fries again! I really enjoy french fries and these were soo yummy! The burger had thick, perfectly cooked bacon and was also wonderful. Just FYI, it feels more like a BAR than a “diner”, but it’s great! The atmosphere is kinda retro with random decor & signs with funny sayings all throughout. It’s a smaller space w/a small outdoor seating area as well. The staff jokes around and is playful, in a pretend rude sorta way and they are really cool, helpful, & provide quick, great service.
Went here as recommended by the front desk receptionist at our hotel which was 5 minutes away, and we are glad we took her suggestion. The cafe's location was great, walking distance and near a lot of neat places on 5th ave, the meal portions were huge, the food tasted great, and its got a cool vibe. We went during happy hour-- I ordered from the happy hour menu but my hubby and daughter ordered from the dinner menu, and I'd have to say, the happy hour options were an even better deal. They have something for everyone in the menu.
The 5 point is amazing! A perfect little greasy spoon that helps remind you why you still look at downtown Seattle with rose tinted glasses after all these years. I would highly recommend the Reuben and the 5 point burger. The bartender was a little quirky and snippy - I even watched him physically push a customer out of his way to make space at the bar - but he makes killer cocktails! All in all I have no complaints and I would definitely recommend a visit.
Funky place to grab some food any time of day. So much to look at on the walls, behind the bar, on the ceiling! Food was good, service was very fast and friendly. Close to space needle and glass museum. We had the grilled cheese with soup and the huevos rancheros. Both were good and were just the right size for lunch.Food: 5/5
Nice and unique place. Good service but long wait due to their popularity. Restrooms need to be cleaner since it is opened 24 hrs. Food was good.Food: 5/5
Locals' favorite, this historic place has been around since 1929. Authentic and unique, serving comfort food around the clock, the 5 Point Cafe was popular and full even on a weeknight. Signature dishes, filling portions, and breakfast even at midnight. Nice setting with tables outside and in front of a little square. Seeing the restroom by itself is a signature experience. Everything I saw on the menu was fried food, oily, and lacking taste, but if people watching is your motivation to swing by, then the variety of beers on the tab makes up for the shortcomings of the food.
I had breakfast at The 5 Point Cafe this morning and thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service and the atmosphere. If I lived around the corner from 5 Point, I would probably be there for breakfast, lunch and dinner! It’s the kind of place that’s casual, comfortable and fun. I also enjoyed the 80s and 90s classic rock that was playing. Journey, Madonna, Bon Jovi, Eagles, etc..
We planned a visit to this historic establishment after hearing a lot about it. What we ordered - Vegetarian omelette, breakfast burrito What we’ll takeaway - The food was served in a reasonable time. However it was missing seasoning. There was no salt at all. We left disappointed.
Fun divey spot for cold beer and classic familiar favorites. We had cheese curds and fish & chips. Super fast service, food was great, and they had a great selection of beer on tap. Pictured is the halibut fish and chips w. coleslaw and tartar sauce. Everything was great - the cheese curds in particular were fantastic - and we always enjoy some good fish and chips!
