The Back Abbey

About

The Back Abbey opened in June 2008. When we first found this location, it was just four walls. Four busted up walls. No ceiling. No windows. Since then it has been loved into something special. It started with a passion for flavors and quality.

Good food. The schnitzel salad is excellent. The menu selections are limited, but good. The Po Boy is also excellent. It’s not a large place but fun to go hang out with friends. Their patio is nice too. Their beer selection has a wide selection, both on tap and in bottles. I’d eat here again.

Great beers that are often difficult to find other places, yummy food, and lots of heaters and blankets on the patio. Doggies are welcome out there. One server gave him a whole piece of bacon last time too. Not many vegetarian options but there is a portabella dish, and a pretzel that's good. The days with vegetarian soups make my night.

Love this place. Food is delicious service is casual and prompt. My hubby loves all the variety of beers. My only complaint was my brioche bun which is normally amazing was so hard i requested a new bun......come on chef they was only a few people in there. Or maybe hes just a cook in which case i hope they keep looking.

Best Hamburger Ever! Extremely high quality meat, cooked exactly as you like, absolutely best bun ever, great add-on's and - oh don't forget the wonderful twice fried (once in duck fat) fries; crispy and delicious. Extensive beer and wine collection and knowledgeable staff. Inside is small and noisy, outside is spacious and comfortable but subject to the weather. Prices are fairly high, but even at around 15 dollars I still have to have a Back Abbey hamburger about twice a year. Located in the Claremont plaza that has a fountain, walk / sit areas, other restaurants and often outdoor music.

Amazing beer largely belgian. Not belgian style, actually imported from Belgium. Food is also delicious, try the duck fat fries and the Schnitzel.
