The Bay
"Enjoy some of the best dishes served in Whitefish Bay in a warm and inviting neighborhood hangout. Open brick and dark original hardwoods set the tone for a deep, well-versed wine list and craft brew selection that goes beyond your everyday amber selections. The Bay’s appetizers will tempt your palette with savory Salmon Cakes complemented with a one of a kind homemade remoulade. Or try our Roasted Veggies, made up of fresh seasonal vegetables with a delicious homemade red pepper dipping sauce."

Wonderful establishment!!!! This is truly a hidden treasure. We went on a Thursday evening, and it was pretty busy. We were able to get a table immediately. We had a wonderful waitress who provided her favorites which really helped us choose our dinner. We had the buffalo cauliflower bites, hummus with vegetables, salmon salad and buffalo fried chicken salad. Everything was amazing! The hummus is house made. You can’t beat that., . .
From all the good reviews, I expected at least a little better than we got. We went for dinner back in July, and the more I think about it, the worse the experience actually was. We were on our way home to Two Rivers from an overnight in Milwaukee, and wanted to get some dinner. I looked for some restaurants on my phone, and this one was close, and had great reviews. The first thing that struck me about the place was that even though we were dressed similarly to everyone else, we weren't made to feel very welcome. From the host that seated us, to the look from the bartender as we passed, to being stuck at a table in a busy corner at the end of the bar, when there were plenty of other tables open. It was like they knew that we weren't locals, and didn't really want us there. And the waitstaff weren't rude, but also weren't very warm. We had the deep fried cod. You didn't get gypped on the amount of food, that's for sure, but the fish was really greasy. Yes, I know it was deep fried. But the oil was pooling on the coating. Also, the baked potato was rock hard, and obviously microwaved but not for long enough.
Stopped by for a lunch on a Sunday afternoon and was blown away. This place has a large bar, great atmosphere and the food was top notch. I ordered a burger and it was cooked just the way I requested, the brisket on top was some of the best BBQ in MKE. Good selection of beers on tap, and good sized menu with plenty of choices, while still feeling distinctly curated. I will be going back to try their BBQ only available on Saturdays. If you are just visiting, or a local, this is a must stop.
What a great spot for a quick, delicious lunch! We stopped by on a whim - grabbing some food between destinations. The space was open, clean and not too noisy. Our server was very kind and helpful, as we navigated an allergy in our party. The food came out quickly, hot, fresh, and very tasty. Thank you! Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating.
Big fan of this place. Nice to have a hip local bar right downtown Whitefish Bay in the north shore. There is a great outdoor patio for when the weather is good. Nice variety of menu items. The Bay Burger is a classic. Feel good place to go as well since the owners are very active in the community.Food: 4/5
Y’all know I like to taste good food. This place delivered. Drinks were amazing and my sweet potato burger hit the spot. Sometimes it’s hard to find a place that offers a good lighter meal. This place has choices and I appreciate that.Recommended dishesMozzarella Sticks
I was a little disappointed with my first visit to The Bay. The service was great, the atmosphere nothing special at all. I ordered a Chicken Ceasar Salad and my mother ordered the Short Rib appetizer as her meal. The chicken on the salad was ok, it was moist and cooked well but no flavor at all. The lettuce was fresh. The dressing again sort of bland. My mom liked the sauce on the ribs but said they were very hard to eat. A lot of bone and gristle ? on the ribs, not a lot of meat. The iced tea was delicious. I'll give it another try, just won't order a salad.
Wonderful smells and soon as you get near the place. Chili was excellent. Pulled pork sandwich was good not fantastic. Very nice place. Waitress and person who served the food....maybe the chef, were courteous and attentive. Indoor and outdoor very clean and comfortable feeling. Outdoor has some vertical heaters for when the weather turns colder. Nice to see Hinterland on tap.
Three of us stopped in for lunch and luckily had time to spare. We arrived at 12:15pm during the RNC and there was no one at the desk, no clean tables as they said sit anywhere. About twenty minutes later after we gave up on an outside table, the waitress came with water and menus. She was lovely and over worked but gave us fairly good attention all things considered. I would return again as there were some gluten free options and having the RNC in town is taxing. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options
Lemon Dill Pasta was wonderful! Sarah is awesome and great with meal suggestions!Food: 5/5
