From what I read, and staff confirmed, in the past year they've changed owners, remodeled the kitchen and the menu.

I've been back to the dining room 3 times since the change (haven't been to the bar area for happy hour, yet.)  The menu is great, the food has been very good, but there's never been enough staffing.  

I suggest making sure you arrive well before your empty stomach is grumbling.... you could be in for a long wait until your plate arrives  =p

The chicken sandwich was like chewing gum, or rubber.  Burger King offers better food, honestly!  Had to ask to replace it with a veggie burger.  The veggie burger was unremarkable  and I prepare better versions daily for my lunches at work. They loaded it with mayo which I do not care for but can tolerate and did not ask for.   In the interest of limited time for lunch and my guest, I ate the veggie burger with mayo rather than becoming a problem.  They did not adjust the bill to reflect the cheaper veggie patty sandwhich.   Meanwhile my guest decided to order desert as he had finished his dinner while I was replacing the chicken.  My guest ordered a desert item, the server returned to say they were out of the item.  Ordered a second choice, server returned to say they were out of that also.  My friend then asks what they DO have in stock and went with that.  They open at 11am at we were there at noon. Must have either poorly stocked their desert options. Upon leaving the host asked how things were, and I told her "marginal."  Staff was friendly but sometimes obviously new to their jobs.  I love this historic railroad depot and have supported previous business' here.  I must say I would likely not return to the current establishment unless they can get things together and offer consistent quality.  I later called them to speak to a manager.  The lady listened and  cheerfully said she would "let them know." Offered little apology or confidence that things will change.  Good luck Berea Depot!  My hope is that you fix your poor quality before you cause a great old structure to be empty again.  Also, potential customers, don't consider reviews here which are for the previous Union Depot, they were a different operator.

New Management, incredibly attentive staff, and great atmosphere. My advice would be to enjoy the indoors even though the outside is lovely the passing of several trains every 20 minutes maybe a bit much for some. And last but not least the food... the food is just decent nothing to write home about, but the great wait staff more than makes up for it.

I have always wanted to try this place and I finally did Friday evening, I had the crab dip and the Hungarian paprika chicken and it was delicious. The staff was friendly and it was very welcoming. I will definitely be back!

At one time The Berea Depot was a wonderful restaurant, but it has new owners, and they do not live up to the quality of food the original owners. The ambience is still that of the old time train depot, but the food is not worth the trip anymore. Maybe with time the food will improve.
